U.S. Army Issues Gag Order to Catholic Chaplains

U.S. Army Silences Catholic Chaplains From Speaking out Against Obama Admin Ruling | TheBlaze.com.

Some of the Chaplains read  Catholic Archbishop Timothy Broglio’s  letter objecting to Obama’s insistence that religious institutions pay for birth control ( hormones, abortifacients and sterilizations, etc. ) for their employees, despite a  GAG ORDER  from the Army Office of the Chief of Chaplains.

These chaplains  were invited to contact the military archdiocesan attorney to obtain free assistance from  public interest law firms which would defend their religious freedom and first amendment rights.

Prayers for the success of the military chaplains who  took the initiative to defy the Army’s unconstitutional gag order.

*Pharmer will see if the letter will be read at her parish this Sunday.

WaPo: History Made! Whitehouse has Gaydar

44 – Obama makes history with social secretary pick.

Of uppermost importance to the Washington Post is not the political and career credentials of Jeremy Bernard.  Top most in the headlines and in the article is Bernard’s sexual preference.   Incidentally, his topmost pertinent accomplishments are probably in the area of Obama fundraising.

In times past, history was made by accomplishments, and these were highlighted, with the personal lives of our renowned heros something that had had to be dug up by those with interest in the matter.

Now the personal life is on top, with the accomplishments a bare footnote.

We see what’s most important to the left.

We also see why gay people who can see the whole picture have turned conservative.   Those with brains prefer the society with an economy that could sustain them, and in which they could keep their heads.

Down the road from Obama…… an economy and obamacare which can’t sustain gays, and a theocratic political system which has shown a propensity for chopping off the heads of homosexuals.

Obama needs to come out of the closet.  He chooses these symbolic means of supporting his interest in gay rights, rather than overtly coming out in their favor.   His fear of coming out  has led him into constitutional issues, as he has been picking and choosing which laws to enforce. The executive branch is supposed to enforce all of them.

Conscience Tug-of-War in Washington | Daily News | NCRegister.com

Conscience Tug-of-War in Washington | Daily News | NCRegister.com.

National Catholic Register covers the back and forth seesawing of the Washington Board of Pharmacy on the issue of conscience and pharmacy practice.

Eventually most of the board members gave in to their masters, returning to a decision which had already been met with a court challenge.   This judicial process will have to go forward.

Riding underneath the seesawing was the possibility that pro-abort  Governor Gregoire would be picked to join the Obama administration and occupy Elena Kagan’s  former position as solicitor general.   Later it is said that Gregoire’s enthusiasm for that position cooled, but we do not know if it means she did not make the cut, or whether she actually asked to be taken off the list.

The Board of pharmacy serves at the behest of the governor.

Judge strikes down healthcare reform law | Reuters

Judge strikes down healthcare reform law | Reuters.

In Florida, the U.S. District Court Judge, Roger Vinson, struck down Obamacare as unconstitutional.

This ruling is broader than the previous decision (Richmond Virginia Federal District Court)  marking the provision to force citizens to purchase insurance as unconstitutional. Also the list of plaintiffs in this case include about half of the states, so that this decision has more influence.

Judge Vinson did not stay his ruling, so that it has influence even while the inevitable appeals by the Obama administration take place. This  (HOPEFULLY) will cork up the preliminary measures leading up to full implementation of the debacle in 2014.

Say WHAT??

Cross-sex strip searches ruled unconstitutional.

Check out this majority opinion on strip searching, regarding a female patting down a male prisoner.

“The right to be free from strip searches and degrading body inspections is … basic to the concept of privacy,” Judge Johnnie Rawlinson said in the majority opinion, quoting an earlier ruling.

Obamacare Mandate to Buy Health Insurance is Struck Down

U.S. Health-Care Law’s Mandate Thrown Out by Judge – Bloomberg.

Judge Henry Hudson of U.S. District Court in Richmond Virginia has struck down a central requirement of Obamacare which was set to go into effect in 2014.   The commerce clause does not give government authority to force a person to buy health care insurance, or anything else.

There are a series of court challenges to Obamacare by 20 states (so far), and this defeat  for the administration marks a significant first blow to the government takeover of one sixth of the economy.

This district  court decision defended Virginia’s Health Care Freedom Act which barred forcing citizens to purchase health care insurance.
