On the Pill? Your Partner Might Not be Smelling the Real You

The Tricky Chemistry of Attraction – WSJ.com.

WSJ presents a body of research suggesting that the use of hormonal birth control has affected mate selection in both directions.  Two main factors are possibly  altered.  The natural propensity to select (by smell) more genetically and immunologically different partners is  attenuated by the pill.   Animal studies indicate that signals of female genetic health are possibly attenuated  (and not picked up by males)  in those taking long term progestin birth control.

Females on the pill tend to select more metrosexual men as partners, then tend to feel attractions to OTHER men when they go off the pill and ovulate.    Those not on the pill tend to choose more masculine men as partners, and are less inclined to show an attraction to other men while ovulating.

Bottom line………from data thus far, the use of hormonal contraception  is possibly wussifying humanity, and producing a sort of devolution to a species less genetically diverse and immunologically resilient, by altering the natural chemical bases of attraction.

 

Newt Gingrich Sticks With His Prior Health Insurance Mandate

It’s one thing that Gingrich and the Dems seem to  have in common: the idea that people  should be forced to purchase health care insurance.

Some people can afford to be ‘self insured’, and some would agree to take the risk and accept that no one cover them if they have a turn of bad luck.   Others are covered in private, voluntary groups in which people agree to pay for each others illnesses.

What in the U.S. Constitution allows the federal government to force us to purchase something?   Maybe Newt  (the washed up one) can tell us where to find this.

 

Cliff Kincaid Tracks So Called “Catholic” Criticism of Boehner Record on Social Welfare

The latest “Catholic” criticism of  Speaker Boehner, for resisting the funding of abortion and other socially deleterious programs designed to foster dependency on the government, is  fed by  the Worlds Biggest Tick, George Soros. Stephen F Schneck, a prominent signatory,  is on the board of  Catholics in Alliance for the Common Good, a Soros funded  lobbying group.

Strauss-Khan, head of International Monetary Fund, Arrested for Rape

Top French politician, International Monetary Fund head Dominique Strauss-Kahn charged with attempted rape – NYPOST.com.

Apparently the 62 year old Dominique Strauss-Khan could not control himself.  He is said to have jumped a house keeper in his Manhattan hotel room, and performed an illegal sex act on her.  She has since  been treated  at Roosevelt  Hospital for trauma, and Strauss Kahn was pulled from his flight at the JFK  Airport and arrested.

French President, Nicholas  Sarkozy has one less rival  facing him in the next election cycle.    Expect the Socialist party of France to blame Sarkozy for this scandal in New York,  and call it part of a smear campaign.

AFA Stings KMart-Sears

Sears admits they were wrong; finally pulls website materials.

Sears has pretty much gone down the tubes after KMart bought them out in 2004.

The American Family Association  has been hounding  Sears during a nine month period  for selling pornographic materials on its website.   This stuff was also being made freely available to kids, with no form of age check before purchase.

After a hailstorm of complaints from customers spurred on by the AFA,  Sears has relented and is pulling the stuff  from its website.

 

Daily Mail – the National Geographic of News on Bin Laden

Daily Mail provides the random, close up, slices of life at the Bin Laden Mansion.

Kids are said to have been  renumerated, rather than allowed to go in the compound to retrieve a lost soccer ball or whatever other sports equipment might have been lost on the other side of the 7 foot wall around the compound.

One 12 year old claimed  that he was given a pair of rabbits as a present by the Bin Laden family.

These  juicy tidbits (and why is it news?) were met with a good deal of amusement by Pharmer et al.

“Another youngster, named Daniel Alvi, revealed that he regularly saw a man in a red Suzuki van drive into the compound with a live goat, while the milkman only delivered outside the security gate and never rang the doorbell.”

CNN reporter Nic Robertson reported that Osama was growing POT inside his compound.

Maybe that’s the answer…. 😉

Money Talks .. Notre Dame Drops Charges against Pro-life Protesters

Charges dropped against anti-abortion Notre Dame commencement protesters – WSBT-TV.

It was a significant problem in the funding department for Notre Dame to be criminally prosecuting pro-life protesters who objected to the Pro-Abortion Extremist, Obama being honored at Notre Dame and giving a commencement speech.

It seems that efforts such as the one to Replace Jenkins have had their effect on funding for the university.
