Feeling the Heat White House to Offer Compromise on Birth Control Coverage

Obama to Announce Contraception Rule ‘Accommodation’ for Religious Organizations – ABC News.

Obama is in hotter water than he thought he’d be in, trying to force religiously affiliated organizations to pay for birth control,  abortive drugs and sterilizations.

He’s got a compromise plan to offer, which is poorly described in the media, but supposedly is another way to get birth control from their insurance without the direct involvement of the employers.

The plan sounds like gibberish,  and is not expected to satisfy those who object to being forced to pay for these services for their employees.   The most useful information is that the White House is worried that it has lost considerable voter support because of the birth control edict.

Religious Freedom Restoration Act of 2012

bill_senate_healthcare_religious_exemption_013112.pdf (application/pdf Object).

Senator Marco  Rubio  (R) FL  has introduced a bill to  reverse the Obamacare mandate that religious health care and other institutions be forced to cover contraception, abortifacient drugs and sterilizations.    Above is a link to the text.

This bill unfortunately does not address the health care professionals themselves, who will have to leave their jobs in order to avoid participating in similar obamacare mandates.

It’s a good start, though.

Some of the American Women Killed for Refusing Abortion

Under-the-Radar-Violence-in-the-Conflict-Over-Abortion.pdf (application/pdf Object).

This is a compendium of cases, provided by Life Dynamics, in which women’s refusal to abort was the reason for being murdered.  By no means is it comprehensive, as there is no mechanism for compiling such data except scouring the news, or police reports,  and women are generally secretive about the decision to abort.

Most women who are threatened with violence unless they abort will give in.    Click above to learn what happened to some of the  women who refused abortion.

U.S. Army Issues Gag Order to Catholic Chaplains

U.S. Army Silences Catholic Chaplains From Speaking out Against Obama Admin Ruling | TheBlaze.com.

Some of the Chaplains read  Catholic Archbishop Timothy Broglio’s  letter objecting to Obama’s insistence that religious institutions pay for birth control ( hormones, abortifacients and sterilizations, etc. ) for their employees, despite a  GAG ORDER  from the Army Office of the Chief of Chaplains.

These chaplains  were invited to contact the military archdiocesan attorney to obtain free assistance from  public interest law firms which would defend their religious freedom and first amendment rights.

Prayers for the success of the military chaplains who  took the initiative to defy the Army’s unconstitutional gag order.

*Pharmer will see if the letter will be read at her parish this Sunday.

Susan G Komen Foundation Loses It’s Nerve

Susan G. Komen Foundation Reverses Stance, Pledges to Continue Funding Planned Parenthood | TheBlaze.com.

Komen gave in  to the extortion.   They probably received the ultimate pressure.  Pharmer would bet that Komen got a call from the IRS !!!!  Yes, it’s the second thing that came to mind when hearing of this reversal of their original decision.

A normal group would have been angered by the extortion attempt from Planned Parenthood.   The Komen group probably is, but fear is the primary driver that would overcome the anger.   The biggest thing for a non-profit to fear is losing non-profit status.  The next biggest fear is for the leaders to have their own personal reasons for fearing the tax man.   The IRS is the instrument of Obama, who is the protector of planned parenthood.

The first thing that came to Pharmer’s mind:    Now EVERYONE knows that Komen gives to planned unparenthood..   You can find another charity now, or give directly to research organizations.   A while back, Pharmer celebrated Breast Cancer Awareness month by publishing  alternatives to  the Komen foundation.  Click HERE.

*The Christian coalition is an example of a group which gave up non-profit status in order to continue publishing its issues-only voter guide.   Planned unparenthood is an example of a group which has been exempted  from the IRS criteria needed to retain non-profit status.

Indiana Senate Bill 72 – 2012 Regular Session | eLobbyist

Bill Text: IN Senate Bill 72 – 2012 Regular Session | eLobbyist.

It was fairly easy to get Indiana Senate bill 72 passed by the republicans with most of the meat hacked out of it. What’s left is a bill that stops telemed abortions. It requires certain info to be given to women before giving the drugs, but it does not require that the info on the safety of the drugs be accurate.
Abortionists do not have to report treatment failures or adverse events, deaths, hospitalizations, caused by use of the abortion drugs. Therefore the safety of the drugs can never be assessed or compared with that of childbirth.

The definition of abortion drug, which is the main thing left in the bill can be construed include Ella, (ulipristal acetate) when the doses are accumulated in sufficient quantity to induce a home abortion.

There is no longer a visible requirement that the abortion drugs be used according to the FDA approved label. Therefore planned unparenthood can continue its practice of using one third the recommended dose of mifepristone, double the dose of misoprostil, and ejecting the embryo or fetus dead or alive.

The top  link will lead you to what’s left of the bill as it leaves the senate.

Pharmacists will require special definitions of interceptive drugs, (which kill the early human embryo by stopping implantation), and and entirely separate legislation to be excused from dispensing the morning after pills, including Ella, which can be used for home abortions if the doses are accumulated.

Inside story on Komen split from Planned Parenthood – Jill Stanek

Inside story on Komen split from Planned Parenthood – Jill Stanek.

Click above for a bit of inside scoop on the “divorce” of Susan G Komen Foundation and Planned Parenthood. Jill Stanek predicts that Komen is totally finished with funding  planned parenthood, and one reason is that the latter organization took their “divorce” to the press, as a means of punishment.

Pharmer would be more enthusiastic about Komen foundation if it were really interested in addressing all the means to prevent and cure breast cancer. It seems to have become one of those bloated “non-profit” behemoths which burn a good portion of the funds which could have gone directly towards productive research and interventions.

Some charitable organizations begin a program of self perpetuation, to bring about job security for the employees.

The decision by Komen foundation to ditch planned parenthood likely had more to do with decreasing controversy,  increasing income, and less to do with ethical reasoning.

The Komen statement that it does not fund  embryonic stem cell research is likely fueled by public awareness  that such efforts have  produced no positive medical results. Geron, the former industry leader is also bailing out, and moving more resources to adult stem cell work. The statement put forth by Komen claims that it never funded embryonic stem cell research, though it has had prior association with institutions which were carrying out such research.

Click for Komen financial statements.

More on planned parenthood punishing Komen for defunding them.  PP is using this event as a fundraiser and as a threat to other corporations which stop giving. Imagine what will happen if the girl scouts bail on them!  Moral of the story, don’t get started with planned parenthood.

Susan G. Komen Foundation Defunds Planned Parenthood

Susan G. Komen for the Cure Halts Partnership With Planned Parenthood | TheBlaze.com.

Over 680,000 dollars last year flowed from Susan G Komen foundation to various planned parenthood affiliates. The funding will be stopped until the congressional investigation of planned parenthood obtains a result exonerating that organization of the charges of concealing sex abuse of minors.

The actual underlying decision by Komen probably has more to do with loss of contributions because of their longstanding tie with planned parenthood. It has become more publicly known that planned parenthood uses only the “TSA method” of breast cancer screening, not mammography or MRI.

The most in the fewest words from Smokey Bojangles, commenting at The Blaze: “Save the Ta Tas and kill the babies that feed off of them???”

Unsigned NYT Editorial Wanders from Birth Control to Sonograms

Birth Control and Reproductive Rights – NYTimes.com.

Some anonymous leftie at the New York Times praises Obama’s decision to trample on the human rights of religiously affiliated health care employers.   The article wanders from this to weeping about those who oppose being made to pay for the recreational drugs and abortions desired by others.

Yes, birth control pills, when used for that purpose are recreational drugs,  and almost all abortions are recreational procedures.   They are optional, and support the  pursuit of  sex  as a mini-vacation, purely for the fun of it.

This short editorial covers a lot of territory, moving next to  the  Texas rule  mandating sonograms before abortions  (allowing detection of ectopic pregnancies, and permitting more safety for the woman.)  This regulation  does not mandate that a woman be shown her sonogram, but does require  that  basic information be offered to her  in order to support  informed consent for the abortion procedure.

It is vastly amusing to see a leftist decrying “intrusion into the doctor patient relationship”.  Medicare, medicaid and thousands of health care regulations are all about government standing between the patient and the physician.  The vast majority of this intrusion has been at the behest of the leftists.   One measure to provide for patient safety and informed consent  with respect to abortion causes these same people to go ballistic.

Catholic Letter Denounces Health Care Contraceptive Mandate | Video | TheBlaze.com

Catholic Letter Denounces Health Care Contraceptive Mandate | Video | TheBlaze.com.

Catholic Bishops  have put out letters opposing Obama’s latest assault on first amendment rights,  and these were to be read to congregations this past Sunday.   Obama has given Catholic institutions a year to begin paying for birth control, abortion producing drugs and sterilizations in their health care plans.

The bishops state that they will not comply, and are urging the congregants to write to their representatives in government to oppose Obama’s  violation of civil rights, and religious freedom.

If you attended Catholic Church this past Sunday and did not hear this letter,  it might be good to ask your pastor or your bishop why.
