Goodbye Barney Frank

Barney Frank not seeking re-election in 2012 – CNN.com.

Democrat Congressman Barney Frank of Massachusetts is not seeking reelection in 2012.  After “serving”  16 terms and much destruction of the banking and housing industries, as well as Jerry Springer style scandals, we are losing one of America’s leftmost congressmen.

There is a reason to give thanks.

Barney will announce during a press conference  at 1 pm today, says CNN.

Women urge others to go public about abortions

Women urge others to go public about abortions.

Harriet Hills Stinson,  (85 year old member of the Hills Bros. Coffee family) has publicly announced that she had an abortion in her 20s, and does not regret it to this day.

She’s part of the NARAL push to get women to announce their post-abortive status in order to deter Congress from passing a bill that excuses the rest of us from funding the procedures.

Pharmer suspects that  NARAL, who bestowed honor on Ms. Stinson at their “Power of Choice” banquet,  may be taking unfair advantage of a elderly woman in mental decline.

Pelosi on Abortion: Foaming at the Mouth Again

Steve Ertelt grabbed this bit of video of Pelosi commenting on the latest attempt to defund abortion and protect conscientious health care professionals, being addressed in Congress.

Nancy is frothing at the mouth with more intensity than usual, fueled possibly by the cognitive dissonance in her mind. Nancy professes some connection with Catholicism, which expressly states that the killings of humans by abortion are wrong. It is up close and personal for Pelosi, who wants these procedures available for her daughters. Living inside the head of this woman would not be pleasant.

From Nancy’s mind to yours, (4/20/07) decrying the upreme Court decision to uphold the ban of partial birth abortion:
“This isn’t really an abortion issue. That is what really saddens me about what the justices said.

“This is about a procedure that any parent would want her daughter to have access to if she needed it.
And to frame it as an abortion issue is doing a disservice to medicine and to our young women and our country. So I hope we can get the focus back on the fact that this Supreme Court is deciding what medical procedures are necessary for child-bearing women.”

Pharmer invites Pelosi to present a single medical case in which any procedure of carving up a human in utero is necessary specifically to save the life of a mother.

Don’t hold your breath for a response.

As EXPECTED, Weiner’s NY Congressional District Goes Republican

A retired media executive, Bob Turner beat NY Dem. Assemblyman David Weprin in Anthony Weiner’s  (9th) NY Congressional district.  One might gather that the negative political influence of Obama has become extreme.

Fun facts:  This district comprises parts of Brooklyn and Queens.  The population is 40% Jewish with Dems spinning the results with the fact that many are Orthodox (actually religious Jews).  Obama has a 37 percent approval in this district.  Turner is Catholic.  Weprin is Jewish.  Some say that his vote in favor of gay marriage in the NY state assembly did not help his chances.  This congressional district has not been in Republican hands since the 1020’s.   The current administration’s  lack of support for Israel  likely was a heavy influence causing the huge shift in voter sentiments.

A beer summit isn’t going to fix this problem for Obama.

Obama moves jobs speech date to Sept. 8 | The Ticket – Yahoo! News

Obama moves jobs speech date to Sept. 8 | The Ticket – Yahoo! News.

Obama’s original plan ( to suggest a third Porkulus package)  to “stimulate jobs”   has been rescheduled.

It’s “deja vu all over again”  as the president comes off of a Martha’s Vineyard vacation and makes a speech about jobs.   The idea was to address  a joint session of congress on Sept 7,  in an attempt to upstage a republican presidential debate.

Boehner rejected the idea, and asked for rescheduling to Sept 8.

Obama has complied, and will now be up against the opening game of the professional football season.

Obamacare Health Insurance Mandate Ruled Unconstitutional by 11 th Circuit Court

11th Circuit says mandate unconstitutional – Jennifer Haberkorn – POLITICO.com.

For the first time, a Democrat- appointed judge has ruled against Obamacare.  The standout Judge is Frank Hull, a Clinton Appointee, who concurred with Judge Joel Dubina, a Bush appointee, in the 2-1 decision.

The court has specifically struck down the mandate, and not the entire law as Judge Vinson did in an earlier decision.

The various decisions made on the Obamacare abomination will likely cause it to be brought  it to the Supreme Court this fall.

This most recent decision noted that there would be no limit the powers of Congress if it could force people to purchase health insurance, with Judge Stanley Marcus apparently thinking that this is OK.

Rep David Wu- Far Worse than the Tiger Costume

Sources: Young woman accuses Oregon Rep. David Wu of aggressive, unwanted sexual encounter | OregonLive.com.

Yes,  Rep. David Wu was acting too strange for his staff’s comfort, and now he’s on meds and in the process of divorce.

Previously Pharmer thought that Wu’s tiger costume did not rise to a worrisome  level  by Democrat standards.

Now he’s accused of  unwanted sex with a teenage daughter of one of his donors.

That’s enough.  Boot him out.

McConnell Says ‘Real Deal’ Not Possible With Obama – WSJ.com

McConnell Says ‘Real Deal’ Not Possible With Obama – WSJ.com.

Take note-  The debt and economic disaster will be kicked down the road by Obama.  Four more years will turn us into a third world Nation.

When our Republican leaders finally act as though they’ve grown a pair, it makes screaming red headlines on the Drudge Report.

Said Sen. Mitch McConnell:  “…. after years of discussions and months of negotiations, I have little question that as long as this president is in the Oval Office, a real solution is unattainable,”

This really is the last stand of the republican party.   If they don’t deliver on stopping obama’s spending, there will be a third party.  In that case, it will be difficult for a single conservative candidate for the presidency to rise above the rest.
