It’s OVER for Government Motors, Obama refuses to sell

General Motors pushing U.S. to sell stake: report – MarketWatch.

The Obama administration enjoys driving General Moters into the ground.  That’s why it is refusing requests by the GM executives to sell off its shares of the company.

GM notes that association with the Obama administration is hurting its reputation, impeding sales of vehicles (due to lack of confidence), and hurting it’s ability to employ top talent.

Insight: GM’s Volt: The ugly math of low sales, high costs | Reuters

Since it costs about twice as much to build a Chevy volt, than the base price which GM charges, the taxpayers will be paying 49,000 dollars for every volt on the road. They already pay aout 7,000 dollars for government subsidy of each customer purchase.
As you know, the Chinese government is subsidizing the production of the cars over there, but production is likely still at a similar loss.
Be aware that the losses incurred by the GM plants in China will fall on the American tax payers in the next bailout.

Are you feeling green today?

Media Blackout: GAO Says Obama’s Welfare Waivers Illegal

Media Blackout: GAO Says Obama's Welfare Waivers Illegal.

THe General Accounting Office has announced that Obama’s welfare waivers, which end the work requirement set up during the Clinton administration, are illegal.

This news will be hidden from the public which hasn’t figured out that the BOOB TUBE and the other mainstream media are not the places to get information.

Congress was supposed to be involved in any changes in the welfare requirements. It’s Budgetary!

Thirteen year old Nathan Duszynski of Holland, Michigan saved up his lawn mowing money and bought a hot dog stand in order to bring in some income for his family. Both of his parents are disabled.
At the City Hall of Holland, Michigan Nathan and his parents were told that it would be fine to open up a hot dog stand, and no licenses were required. But on the first day of business for Nathan, the zoning office came down on him, and shut him down.
The hotdog stand is now up for sale, and one more American, small-business dream is squashed by big government.

Bain Says a Third of Universities and Colleges are Going Broke

BAIN_BRIEF_The_financially_sustainable_university.pdf (application/pdf Object).

Click above for Bain’s analysis and advice for colleges and universities which are facing the financial crunch of bloated infrastructure liabilities. and  fewer students able to pay the ginormous tuition.

Have you been watching the construction at your nearest educational facility over the last two decades?  Did you see cutting edge architectural wonders with soaring entryways and huge heating and cooling liabilities?

With the economy in collapse, private contributions and federal and state funding being pinched, the higher educational institutions are in DEEP DOO DOO.  Like so many others, they built houses that they can’t afford.

Pharmer sees universities receding, and the smaller private and online educational institutions taking over, as people look for more immediate value in their education.

Celestial Discharge: Creator of Red Bull,

The inventor of Krating Daeng, a.k.a. Red Bull, has died of natural causes at age 89. Chaleo Yoovidhya, founder of T.C.-Mycin (an antibiotics producer), made an energy drink that was marketed to the workers and truck drivers of Thailand. Later in the 80’s he teamed up with an Austrian businessman, Dietrich Mateschitz, to transform Red Bull into its current, hugely popular, globally distributed form. Chaleo was ranked as one of the world’s richest men, amassing several billion dollars in assets.

The Bangkok press explains that Krating Daeng means ‘red gaur’, a rare bovine creature that lives along the border with Cambodia. ‘Krating’ was changed to “bull” once the drink was distributed globally.

Funeral rites for Chaleo will last all this coming week at the Wat Khrua Wan Worawiharn in Bangkok. Pharmer hopes God smiles on the guy who kept truck drivers awake, and on the road these many years.

Caffeine is wonderful.

Will there be a Bailout for Carbonite??

Carbonite | Rush Limbaugh | Sandra Fluke | The Daily Caller.

Carbonite CEO David Friend had to go with his “principles” and remove his advertising from the Rush Limbaugh show. He felt it is very important for Conservatives to regulate the words that they apply to females. Somehow it is felt that if conservatives would mind their speech, the leftists would follow suit, leading to more civil discourse. We have yet to see evidence supporting this idea.

Carbonite leads this week’s Nasdaq stock plummet by about 9 points, for a total of nearly 12 percent loss for its shareholders.

Perhaps the CEO feels that sticking to his “principles” is more important than the stock performance of the company. Perhaps, if the decline continues, the government will bail Carbonite out.

On the Relationship Between Obama’s Birth Control Mandate and the Budget Disaster

Mark Steyn: Handing out condoms on the Titanic | budget, debt, down – Opinion – The Orange County Register.

Mark Steyn, author and political pundit who reports to us on what the rest of the world is doing, has been sounding the alarm on America’s impending economic armageddon for years.

He notes now the relationship between the three years of failed un-budgets, and the latest idea to further drive us unto insolvency by cutting the U.S. population.

Birth control, chemical abortion, and sterilizations are already ubiquitously available, but the U.S. government sees the need to hand these out free with your money. At the very same time, most of the other industrialized nations have developed pro-natal incentives to encourage people to make more babies. They figured out that one person can’t sustain two or three non-working, elderly or disabled or unemployed people.

Either Obama is too stupid to understand this, or he’s destroying the U.S. economy purposely. Which do you think it is?
