Raw Milk Suggested As Reason for Low Incidence of Allergies in Amish Children

Amish farm kids remarkably immune to allergies: study – Yahoo! News Canada.

The FDA, which shut down Farmer Dan Allgyer’s raw milk business, for health reasons, apparently hasn’t seen  the study which finds a remarkably low rate of allergies among Amish children.   These kids were  compared to  cohorts of other farm children and those who are not raised on farms.  U.S. Amish kids were compared to Swiss kids  in an attempt to control for common genetic factors, and still a considerable difference was seen.

Other studies point to the farm environment, exposure to certain microorganisms, and to cows.   Raw cows milk is also associated with the reduced allergy incidence.

This latest study, led by Dr. Mark Holbreich  showed 7 percent of Amish kids testing positive for a skin prick allergy test,  while  25 percent of Swiss farm kids, and 44 percent of other Swiss children tested positive.

Allergies are big medical business.  Perhaps crony capitalism is the reason that the FDA felt such a need to shut down Dan Allgyer’s farm.

‘Create the family you want: Boy or Girl’: Sex selection advertized in Canadian newspapers | LifeSiteNews.com

‘Create the family you want: Boy or Girl’: Sex selection advertized in Canadian newspapers | LifeSiteNews.com.

A Seattle Fertility Clinic has been running ads in Canadian newspapers,  targeting immigrants to British Columbia.    It uses a preimplantation diagnostic procedure to determine if embryos produced by in vitro fertilization are  males or females.   This allows an opportunity to destroy those of the “wrong” sex, and implant only those of the desired sex.

In the National Post, Kelly McParland takes aim at Canadians who might be put off by this sex selection industry.  Canada has next to no abortion restrictions, and the Seattle  fertility clinic is taking advantage of Canada’s very liberal environment.    He notes that sex selection “puts feminists in the odd position of defending the right of women to decide against female babies on the basis that females aren’t as valuable or desirable as males.”

Very Late Term Abortions Have Been Suggested for Bioethicists Minerva and Giubilini

A bit of a media uproar was generated by Alberto Giubilini Francesca Minerva who were published in the Journal of Medical Ethics. These two were former associates of the Journal’s Editor, Julian Savulescu, who seems a bit disturbed by the backlash. It seems that some people have written to these two large masses of unproductive tissue that they might be eligible for very late term abortions.

While your friendly  Pharmer  desires to avoid killing any humans, she is not surprised that the same slippery slope of habitual and gratuitous killing that is now justifying infanticide, would be extended a little further to include bioethicists. After all, that group certainly has less  claim than infants do in the area of productivity and value to society.  While newborns don’t do too much, they  seem to bring a sense of hope and joy  to many casual observers.  The same is not true for these bioethicists.

Operation Rescue: Haskell Watch

Cincinnati Right to Life has reported to Operation Rescue that an ambulance has transported a patient from the Womans Med Center in Sharonville, Ohio during the morning of March 28,2012.

Dr Steven Brinn, a pediatrician in a neighboring office,  stated that the woman was being bagged (breathing assistance) and carried out on a stretcher by paramedics.

Haskell  lacks hospital privileges required for abortion practices by Ohio law.  He has a variance fpr the Sharonville clinic because two other physicians have agreed to cover his “accidents”.  One of them is William T Bowers III, who is under probation in Ohio, under criminal  investigation in Indiana, and who has lost his license to practice obstetrics in Kentucky.

Haskell operates an abortion clinic in Kettering, staffed by Roslyn Kade and Neil Strickland.  Three doctors who cover for their abortions at Miami Valley Hospital, Dayton OH,  are Lawrence Amesse, Sheela Barhan and Janice Duke.

Operation Rescue details the possible reasons why Haskell has obtained preferential treatment from politicians, and exemption from compliance with Ohio’s law requiring that abortionists have hospital admitting privileges.  Click HERE.

Haskell and former Sen John Glenn had a history of mutual assistance.  Glenn appointed Haskell’s supporting,  Federal District Court Judge, Algenon Marbley.  Haskell is vice president of Beta Theta Pi, a prestigious fraternity with such luminary members  as Sen. Richard Lugar, and former  Senators  Dick Gephart, Mark Hatfield, and Bob Packwood.

Pharmer would like to remind the public that many “accidents” at the abortion clinics, which do not occur while pro-life protesters are stationed outside, remain hidden.   Health care professionals and institutions fear reprisals if any patient identifying data  were to  be accidentally given if they were to reveal  abortion related injuries and deaths.

Dick Cheney Gets Heart Transplant

Dick Cheney receives heart transplant – Political Hotsheet – CBS News.

Pharmer guesses this is the real reason that Mark Steyn is subbing for his scheduled appearance in Toronto, Ontario.
Here was the cover story: Dick Cheney was supposed to be appearing in Toronto, but he decided to pull out because Canada was too dangerous. This is a guy who has no fear of going to Iraq or Afghanistan, but Ontario alarmed him

According to Political Hotsheet, Cheney is recovering in Inova Fairfax Hospital in Falls Church, VA.
He had been using a left ventricular assist device to keep his heart going while waiting for a transplant.

Prayers for a full recovery for the guy who redefined the role of Vice President, by visibly getting things DONE.

What You Lose When You Sign That Organ-Donor Card – WSJ.com

What You Lose When You Sign That Organ-Donor Card – WSJ.com.

According to Dick Teresi,   your family loses rights over the disposition of your body, and the means by which organs are obtained  if you sign that donor card.

The tests for determining brain death mainly evaluate brain stem activity.   The author recommends cerebral blood flow studies to give more certainty that the higher cortical areas are dead.

A trip to the Amazon  page for Teresi’s book on the subject reveals many angry comments, mostly from people offended by the WSJ article, who did not read his entire book.    People who have received transplants, or who have donated the organs of their loved ones, desperately want to believe that all is well.  Their emotional reactions provide  a good impetus to buy that book, which Pharmer has just done.

Pharmer understands that in the health care field, there are bioethicists, who function to assure  their own definitions of ‘quality of life’.   There are diagnostic errors, and there are naturally cover ups .     The Hippocratic Oath is no longer used at most medical schools, because it strictly forbids killing or purposely harming a patient.

The WSJ author’s recommendation that families  oversee the donation process more closely to assure proper treatment is  a sensible precaution.  Those who want the organs might consent to more thorough examination and more respectful, humane treatment of the dying or deceased patient.   It will also give greater assurances to transplant  recipients that no human being was  abused or killed to obtain an organ for them.

Perhaps a return to the ideals of the Hippocratic oath would  increase  public trust in the health care professions and prevent unnecessary transplant delays .

Draft Mental Health Bill 2011 | Sterilizations at Any Age | Natural Society.

Brave New World: Australia has introduced a bill to allow children to consent to sterilization. It also allows children 12 years and older to independently consent to psychosurgery and electroshock. This is a cost containment effort, to mitigate the burden of mental health care on the socialized medicine system.

Obama defunds ‘snowflake babies’ – Washington Times

Obama defunds 'snowflake babies' – Washington Times.

A federal program that facilitated embryo adoption is being defunded by Obama in 2013.

The purpose of the Snowflake program was to make existing embryos available for adoption by infertile couples, so that they would not be killed and discarded.

The government claimed that lack of interest was the reason for cutting the 2 million dollar program. By comparison, it has more than one million per day to spend on planned unparenthood.
