Late-Term Abortionist Martin Haskell Allowed to Avoid Ohio Law | LifeNews.com

Late-Term Abortionist Martin Haskell Allowed to Avoid Ohio Law | LifeNews.com.

Much to the disgust of Sharonville Mayor Vergil Lovitt,  late term abortionist, Martin Haskell,  has been granted a special variance to skirt the Ohio law requiring him to have a transfer agreement or priveleges at an area hospital in order to operate an abortion clinic.

Governor  Ted Strickland allowed an exception which permitted the opening of Haskell’s new clinic in Sharonville,  the Women’s Med Center at 11250 Lebanon Road.  His health department director, Ted Wymyslo subsequently liberalized the variance, so that it extends indefinitely,  past the retirement of Haskell.   The clinic operates by having his partner, Roselyn Kade and two off site doctors,  David Schwartz and Walter J Bowers handle emergency situations (botched abortions).

Mayor Lovitt says that there have already been such mishaps within a year of the clinic opening, and specifically mentioned two of them.  Says the mayor: ” These complications are difficult to track and there are probably more than we know.”

One of the functions of the HIPAA regulations is to generate fear of reporting such events as abortion complications, and medication related adverse effects, so the Mayor is most certainly correct.

Other  Haskell abortion facilities  continue to operate in Dayton, Ohio, and Indianapolis, Indiana.

California Stops the Ban on Male Infant Circumcision

The most interesting thing about this Reuters article,  concerning the San-Francisco no-circ law being overturned for the second time by the State of California, is the comment section.

See the no-circ people going nutz about the practice of infant circumcision, and foaming at the mouth about the religious underpinnings.

So Pharmer asked them, where to they stand on the issue of removing the entire baby and throwing him into the trash?

Hmmmm?

Did they vote for Obama, who thought it is  ok to do this even after the kid is born?

Another One Bites the Dust

State Shuts Down Rockford Abortion Clinic; Cites Numerous Violations – MyStateLine.com.

The license of the Northern Illinois Woman’s Center has been suspended indefinitely, due to unsanitary conditions and other violations noted by the Illinois State Department of Health.

This clinic has been noted, over the years, at Jill Stanek’s  site,  for it’s special personal relationship with the pro-life community.

With this particular clinic bust,  an abortion avenue has been closed  for Wisconsinites seeking to dodge the parental notification laws in that state.

Pro-life activist beaten, arrested, and accused of bomb plot by police.

The treatment that Peter D’Attilio received in Franklin, Massachusetts is reminiscent of the Clinton era, when the FBI was running around to all the pro-life groups, questioning them about their activities.

Mass Resistance (link above) has the full scoop on D’Attilio’s arrest and detainment, as well as the pending charges against him, for passing out pro-life flyers at St. Mary’s Catholic church festival.   The article also contains contact information.

AZ court upholds limits on abortion

AZ court upholds limits on abortion.

Jivin J over at Jill Stanek’s found this news, of an  Arizona appeals court upholding that state’s new abortion limitations.

Nurse practitioners are no longer allowed to do the mifepristone abortions.  Waiting periods remain in place, and pharmacists right of conscience is upheld with respect to other abortive drugs: the morning after pills.

This is a BIG deal, as the criterion of  “undue burden” for women is defined more stringently.  The fact that the law allows some burden on those seeking abortion is not sufficient for the law to be overturned.

*Note:  Mifepristone, RU-486,  is dispensed by the prescriber or his agent, not pharmacists.  However the chemical analog, ulipristal acetate, or Ella, a morning after pill, is able to be dispensed by pharmacists.

Two legislators, Sen. Frank Lautenberg, D-N.J., and Rep. Carolyn Maloney, D-N.Y are pushing a bill to deny pharmacists the right of conscience with respect to dispensing hormonal birth control.

Jewels Green : Another Pro-life Convert Out of the Closet

Exclusive: Former Abortion Clinic Worker Speaks Out For Life.

Jewels Green had a long history with the abortion industry, beginning with a coerced abortion in her teen years,  then years of employment in the abortion industry.

She   has long since left that work, having come to the conclusion that she could never get used to ending human life in that way.   Only after seeing the book by Abby Johnson (on the side bar ad)   and her testimony has Ms Green  been able to publicly make a statement about her own change of heart.

After reading it,  people will probably conclude that  Jewels Green was instinctively pro-life all along.

UPDATED: Obama admin takes elderly pro-life sidewalk counselor to court | LifeSiteNews.com.

Meet Dick Retta, who has been a pro-life sidewalk counselor for 14 years.

He is accused of federal crimes and may face fines and imprisonment for trying to offer alternatives to women seeking abortions.

Is Dick a threat to women? No….. he has an easy going style and approach. Is he a threat to abortion business? Yes, because he has talked a good number of women into keeping their babies.

Protecting abortion is paramount to the Obama administration, and that’s why Eric Holder’s injustice department is going after Dick Retta.

Chemical Abortion

Pro-lifers recognize surgical abortion as killing humans, but not all of them recognize the scope of the problem presenting as chemical abortion. Generally we  recognize  mifepristone, the chemical formerly known as RU-486. The initial name of the drug  stayed with us, (the same as with the Artist formerly known as Prince).  Mifepristone is best known in the U.S. for its function to kill unborn humans during the embryonic stage, up to 49 days of pregnancy, although it has other investigational uses.

Meet the TWINS!  Ulipristal acetate and Mifepristone.  As you can see, they’re not quite identical, but very close. Both are selective progesterone receptor modulators.

Mifepristone, RU-486 is the most regulated drug in the U.S. Pharmacists don’t dispense it. It’s supposed to be dispensed only by physicians, directly to patients. In China and other countries it has been used as a morning after pill, as well as a killer of later embryos and early fetuses.

Those astute drug companies knew that this drug would not sell as a morning after pill in the U.S. That’s why we have it’s TWIN, Ulipristal Acetate, approved  by the FDA  in August , 2010,  and brought to us in by Watson Pharmaceuticals in December of the same year.  Watson also distributes Next Choice, generic of the original form of Plan B.

At 0.5mg/kg, Ulipristal Acetate, marketed as ELLA, is usable as a morning after pill. It’s marketed as an inhibitor of ovulation, but the manufacturer admits that the operative mechanism depends on the timing of its use. Like RU-486, Ulipristone is an anti-progesterone. It stops the action of that hormone in the reproductive tract, inhibits proliferation of the endometrium, inhibits implantation, and kills the embryo.
