Assistant teacher says she was fired for Christian faith – NYPOST.com.
Anita Wooten-Francis, an asssistant teacher of special ed instructer at the Canarsie school in Brooklyn, has filed suit against the city, the DOE, and principal George Andrews for religious discrimination and unspecified damages stemming from her termination.
Wooten-Francis cites a plethora of improprieties occurring at the school, many involving the behavior of the principal torwards her personally, and directly related to her personal religious practices. For 16 years prior to 2004, she experienced no difficulty at the school regarding her teaching or religious practice.
The 52 year old instructor states that she never influenced the children with her religion, and that the charges leading to her firing are false.
She is accused of grabbing a student at the school, which is said to be implausible due to the nerve damage in her hands and feet. She is described by a fellow teacher (who fears reprisal) as dedicated to the kids, a “fantastic lady” who “wouldn’t hurt a fly”.
From the NY Post:
“I’m a Christian,” Wooten-Francis said. “I believe Jesus Christ is my lord and savior . . . I know that I’m trusting God, and the truth will come out.”

Joy and pain as transgender Indians ‘wed’ Hindu god.
There’s a yearly ceremony to comfort those who are born sexually ambiguous or are transgendered, in India.
According to Hindu mythology, Aravan was expected to die in battle, and asked the god Krishna for one night with a woman. Apparently none were found who wanted to be a widow the next day, so Krishna changed to a woman and got the job done. This has resulted in a concept of Aravan as the patron of the sexually ambiguous.
Yearly ceremonies marrying these people for one night to Aravan provide comfort for those who have had a rough life as a result of their condition.
There’s apparently something to be found for everyone in the Hindu Pantheon.

Attention all you Gaia worshippers! The lefties have been denigrating your religion with the new policy to accord human rights to Mother Nature.
That’s Right! Your god has been demoted to Mere human status!!
Your religion has been dragged through the mud by the lefties, and dissed in a similar manner to Christianity.
Under the Bus, Gaia! You can now be sued, just like any other human. In addition, (in case you become sick or disabled) there’s a reason to consider new problems associated with the demotion: abortion and euthanasia.
Listen up!
Michio Kaku, one of the String Theory physicists takes on determinism as it relates to particle physics.
Following this one at the Blaze was a debate about determinism and free will…….. Can’t Stop That!
Pharmer weighs in:
Since God is unbounded by the dimension of time…….. Guess what!
He knows what’s going to happen and we STILL have free will.
Think about omnipresence and omniscience….. it means being outside of time.
To people trapped in time, that ‘feels’ like determinism, but it’s NOT!

BYU’s Brandon Davies apologizes to teammates | The Salt Lake Tribune.
BYU has suspended a star basketball player for the year, for reasons that the school itself did not broadcast, but you know this would leak out. The Cougars’ prospects of success in this season’s play are expected to be significantly diminished by the loss.
The athletes are expected to adhere to the sex restrictions of the Mormon religion… and OOPSIE daisy.
Anyway, Brandon Davies appears to be taking his lumps like a man instead of whining. This is a redeeming quality.
