Could be— People Will be Switching to Prozac

Supply woes, high prices changing chocolate treats | Reuters.

Chocolate is becoming more expensive as the cocoa supply becomes a more scarce commodity.

The cocoa farmer population is aging, because young people are not so interested in agricultural work in the remote regions.  Cocoa futures are soaring. Interest in more efficient production methods is acute, but converting this to practice is difficult.

More people are going to need fluoxetine, the low calorie, high-test chocolate substitute.

Bill O’Reilly – Qaddafi Brutalities

Bill O’Reilly speaks to Wafa Sultan, author of the book, “A God who Hates”. Dr. Sultan discusses the plight of women under Sharia law, which persecutes/kills women who dare to bring charges of rape.

Go to The Blaze for an update on the story of Iman al-Obeidi who was raped by Qadaffi supporters and has publicly accused them of this crime.
Possibly world-wide publicity of her precarious situation will cause her life to be spared.

Nuke reader help: I Sievert = 100 Rem

For conversion purposes when reading the Nuke articles.  Sieverts radiation dose units used everywhere else, and Rems are used in the U.S.

1 sievert is 100 rem

milli is a one thousandth.

1 rem is 10 millisieverts.

It appears that the approved yearly permitted radiation dose  for workers at the Fukushima plant has been jacked up to the level that the shuttle astronauts are permitted to take per mission.

Japan wouldn’t need to ban all the food from the farms near Fukushima.  A lot of the radioactive contamination has  short half life.  The produce  would  become edible after some time in the can or freezer, even if initial levels are too high for immediate consumption, after washing.  (When the glow starts to go,  chow down.)   Moving food and processing it will be a much bigger job than usual in some of these areas.

The radioactivity in the water found in Tokyo is below safety limits thus far.

In the AM of today, some smoke is rising from the spent fuel storage of reactor 3 at Fukushima Daiichi, and the workers have scooted out of there for a bit.

Wouldn’t you know it,  the Fukushima Daiichi data is being amassed at Wikipedia. It’s a starting point for learning about this,  not the final word, and the article even indicates this  at the top.    The wiki piece is  pretty comprehensive and  appears to be  infinitely  more useful  than the garbage coming out of the media.

This timeline at Wikipedia is being kept current.

U.N. okays military action on Libya | Reuters.

Looks as though Europe is worried about its oil supply and is ready to bomb for stability in the Middle East.

Apparently other Arab states are joining in, and actually requested UN intervention to stop daffy Qaddafi’s  push against the Libyan rebels.

The UN actually beat the US to a decision, but only could do this because Obama’s in charge.

Note who  beat them all to the punch, but, of course she’s not in charge.

Coverage of the Earthquake in Japanese media has  a different tone than that of Western media, particularly in the area of the nuclear power plant  issue.   Mainichi Shimbun  (Mainiti Shinbun)  is definitely worth a look.  That’s the daily newspaper.

Earthquake coverage is streaming from Japan.

A massive earthquake struck  close to the surface  just east of Sendai-shi, the capital of Miyagi prefecture.  It is Japan’s worst since earthquakes have been rated with numbers.  It was accompanied by a huge tsunami, which has already hit Hawaii, and is probably hitting the west coast of the U.S. just now.

ATF Let Hundreds of U.S. Weapons Fall into Hands of Suspected Mexican Gunrunners – The Center for Public Integrity

ATF Let Hundreds of U.S. Weapons Fall into Hands of Suspected Mexican Gunrunners – The Center for Public Integrity.

In an effort to obtain prosecutions of criminals higher up in the food chain, the ATF purposely allowed guns to be sold to intermediaries, then pass into Mexico where they were used in various crimes involving bandits and the drug cartel.   The majority of the guns involved in this scheme remain at large.

This caught a little more than usual non-attention due to the slaying of U.S. Border Patrol Agent Brian Terry.  Two of the weapons associated with this crime were traced to the ATF Fast and Furious operation which allowed those guns to pass into Mexico.

Whistle blowers within the ATF are expecting to be jobless due to having provided some of  the information linked above.    It’s worth a read.

Illinois: Making the Names of Gun Owners Public

Big Hollywood » Blog Archive » Why is the Associated Press Pushing to Make Names of Gun Owners Public?.

The AP has submitted a request for a list of all the gun owners in Illinois.    The State Police are not in favor of releasing the info, while it appears that the Attorney General is in favor.

Greg Gutfield, the author of the above linked article, notes the probably unintended consequence: causing more citizens of Illinois to buy guns for self protection, and so that their homes would not be targeted by burglars, etc.

Pharmer appended the following comment to his article:

Bingo, Greg Gutfield.   This is hilarious.   Picture rich leftist ideologues being parted from their most prized possessions.     One other wrinkle is that we could find out how many leftists are hypocrites, and are packing heat………… but only if the gun owner list is comprehensive.
