Worst of the pack are the schools of Washington DC and the State of Missouri. While the public school teachers now make twice the hourly wage+benefits as the average private sector employee, ( 59 bucks vs 28 bucks), the schools are increasingly producing poor results. Tax payers should be concerned about return on investment. Admittedly the teachers are handcuffed by political correctness and fear of their unions, and in some areas this renumeration is actually COMBAT pay.
The teachers would be making six figures if they worked year round, making them a juicy target for class envy. Expect a new round of protests: Occupy Public Schools!
