A Chinese Embassy official pointed out that the parents of Chinese students killed in New Zealand’s earthquakes lost their only child plus their sole social security policy.

Bummer about that one-child policy, but China’s government should be compensating for its own bad decisions, not asking foreign governments to do so.

New Zealand does not bear responsibility for earthquakes occurring on its territory.

Check out this non-governmental organization which works in China to encourage women not to abort, kill or abandon their female offspring.  Boys outnumber girls by more than 35 million in China now, due to cultural and economic pressures and the strict governmental limits on reproduction.

This group operates in places with the most significant shortages of girls, to encourage the moms to  keep  their female babies.  This is done through education and by supplying funds for child care to the women who decide not to get rid of their  baby girls.

Not unexpected is the Washington Board of Pharmacy’s refusal to  amend regulations  in order to allow a latitude of practice for pharmacists who choose not to participate in killing humans.

The pro-aborts cite worries that rural people will not have easy  access to abortive chemicals.   In reality they lack concern that the rural populations have any pharmacists at all, to provide healing, pharmaceutical care.

More and more, veterinarians, and EMT or paramedics  will be needed to assist the rural populations who completely lose access to  pharmacist, physician and nursing care because of these, and other restrictive policies of Obamacare.  Young people should consider this in choosing their career paths.  Study  Chemistry.

It is good to see more sophisticated imaging and technology being utilized in veterinary medicine.   Significant, cash-only health care  business will be opened  up in the farming communities.  Antibiotic producers  might  spring up amid the meth labs. Any good brewery can assist with raw materials.

Bear in mind that one reason for Janet Napolitano to be taking up  the environmental  cause within her umbrella of authority, is to detect to the energy use required for rural production of health care essentials. It is also reason for the new interest in FDA regulation of food production on farms.

Zhao Lianhai  was sentenced to two and a half   (more) years in jail for disturbing social order.   His crime consists of starting a support group for parents of kids injured by tainted (melamine-containing)  baby formula.

“Disturbing social order” consisted of having people hold up  signs protesting the court and the formula factory,  giving interviews to international news sources, and organizing a gathering of parents at a restaurant.

That’s one scary dude.

Harsher penalties being  been meted out to dissidents is associated with the  international attention  accorded to political reformer  Liu Xaiobo.  The Chinese government likes to keep a lid on its difficulties.

This is in response to the US  looking into China’s subsidies of its green technology sector.

China produces most of the world’s supply of 17 elements which are key in the production of high tech items, due to its lax environmental regulations.

(You see, our clean and green policy is  to outsource our “dirty stuff” to countries which are allowed to be “dirty”.)

So now we have China mad at us, and they’re going to exert pressure so we have to outsource more of our high tech production to them.

Xi Jinping – expected to be China’s Next President

Xi Jinping has been appointed as Vice Chairman of the Central Military Commission, which oversees the Peoples Liberation Army.

He’s considered a safe choice  to become the president of China within the next few years.  The Party Secretary Hu, Jintao is due to retire in 2012.  Xi is expected to replace him and then assume the presidency the following year.

Xi is the son of Xi Zhongxun, a reformer who was “purged” from the party in the 1960s by Chairman Mao.  Xi, the younger was sent off to to hard labor in a rural commune at the age of 15.    He was allowed to study chemical engineering at Qinghua University in Beijing, and later obtained a law degree.   His later service to the party earned him a name for being business friendly, and not one to reveal his views on controversial issues.
