The Food “Detectives”

My Way News – Germany: Sprouts are cause of E. coli outbreak.

Only a quote will do:

“Reinhard Burger, president of the Robert Koch Institute, said even though no tests of the sprouts from an organic farm in Lower Saxony had come back positive for the E. coli strain behind the outbreak, an investigation into the pattern of the outbreak had produced enough evidence to draw the conclusion.”

One thing this article does not mention is a study or observation of the food handling and storage conditions.

After damaging the businesses of produce farmers, it’s now said to be OK the lettuce, tomatoes and cucumbers.

But don’t eat the sprouts, even though none are shown to be tainted with the virulent form of E. Coli.

Sorry…. more quotes. “Also, since it has not yet be established why the sprouts were bad – whether the seeds had been contaminated or the farm’s water – the experts said it was possible that other nearby farms could also be affected.” (Non sequitur)

You should read the whole article from MyWay news to fully appreciate the epidemiological work of the “experts”.

Also bear in mind that the organisms associated with food poisoning are transmitted among people by poor hygiene, personal contact, (the fecal oral route),  and improper  food handling.

Dangerous Arugula!

“alfalfa sprouts, mung bean sprouts, radish sprouts and arugula sprouts from the farm might be connected to the outbreak. Raw sprouts are popular among Germans and often mixed in salads or added to sandwiches.”

via Germany says beansprouts may be behind E.coli – Yahoo! News.

Germany is still shooting down raw vegetables, shot gun style, looking for the virulent strain of E. Coli, ravaging the GI tracts of its citizens.

By the time they’re government ag and  health officials are done, Germans will be cooking whatever few vegetables they eat for a day before consuming them…… leaving no nutritional benefits but the fiber.

The Uelzen Farm in Germany is one more industry to be shut down as a result of the “search” for the source of the E. Coli.

One thing is certain……..it will not be easy for the Germans to follow the Michelle Obama diet for awhile.

Think They’ll Start Washing Their Hands After Going To the Bathroom?

Germany steps up hunt for deadly E.coli source – Yahoo! News.

Where do you find Escherichia coli?   This is the bacterium most associated with feces.

A particularly virulent strain, (Shiga toxin producer) which is associated with severe food poisoning and sometimes death,  is  causing quite a panic in Europe.

Pharmer hopes that the spread of this organism, (which is transmitted  in the manner of many other organisms associated with food poisoning)  will inspire people to wash their hands after going to the bathroom, and before food handling and preparation.

It might even inspire those in Europe and elsewhere   to attend to the hygiene in their hospitals.  This would benefit ALL the patients.

We have previously seen  governmental wild goose chases looking for the source of  pathogenic organisms where vegetables and food products are grown.  Remember the salsa scare? It would be advisable for people to spend their effort attending to  proper food preparation and personal hygiene.  Hopefully they can still afford the soap and water after the governments have  burned their resources in  futile  attempts to track the organisms, and destroyed massive quantities of good food in the process.

Multiculturalism in Germany has Failed, Sez Merkel

Chancellor Merkel, speaking to a younger crowd of Christian Democratic Union members, has declared the multikulti effort in Germany to be an “utter failure”.   She adds that those who do not speak German immediately are not welcome.

Seems that those same Muslims, who don’t like abortion,  are out-reproducing the Europeans and taking over.  The European welfare system causes this disparity to be exaggerated.  It’s easier for one guy to service many “wives”  when the government provides the funding.
