Baby Joseph Update, Ontario Canada

Although the medical records should be released to Joseph’s Maraachli’s parents upon request, according to law, London Health Sciences Centre in London, Ontario, is witholding them. This appears to be an effort to prevent the transport of Baby Joseph to a U.S. hospital where a tracheotomy can be performed.

Health care professionals are standing by and donated medical equipment is available to manage the difficult condition of Baby Joseph which appears to be far beyond the capabilities and fiscal reach of Ontario, Canada. (This is the kind of health care system intended for the U.S., under Obamacare).

According to advocates, the only thing standing in the way of providing for home care for Baby Joseph is this withholding of medical records. One wonders if legal experts at the hospital are combing the medical records for any improprieties before passing them on in this very public case.

Highschools exhibit reduced enthusiasm for Obama commencement speech

Last year about 1000 high schools vied in a competition to have Obama appear as commencement speaker.

This year, as of  Feb. 22, there were only 14 applications very shortly before the deadline on the 25th….. so it must be that the schools are procrastinating.

Who wouldn’t want Obamanator as the commencement speaker, talking about himself again?   Pharmer hears that he needs a teleprompter even for that, to get the story straight.

The Whitehouse is extending the deadline to march 11, and trying to drum up some more applications.  By the end of February there were said to be 68 applications.

These women should also be informed that the bulk of  human embryos produced from their eggs are killed.

Yes, women remain second class, able to be purchased,  and useful as a medical commodity.

 

Canadians Shopping in U.S. for Bargain Medical Prices

Canadians buy U.S. health care as weak economy pushes down prices – The Globe and Mail.

Wait times and availability of  health care has long been sending  Canadians southward to the U.S. for care.   This migration is increasing due to economic downturns and new bargain rates for medical procedures.  U.S.  health facilities are actually negotiating  with Canadian health care brokers and matching prices.

This state of affairs has sent people of more moderate means into the U.S. health care market for such things as joint replacements and cardiac procedures.

Let’s hope that a private system can remain in place for those who think their health is worth the money.

What About the Tracheostomy for Baby Joseph?

It’s good to juxtapose some lay-person friendly medical info up with the hot button pro-life issues of the day. So…. if you want to learn about tracheostomies for babies, and trach care at home, read a long term internet resource put up by the Bissell family.

A London Ontario hospital is holding a baby, Joseph Maarachli, on a ventilator, and has been refusing to do a tracheotomy so the boy can be taken home to be with his family. He suffers from a neurodegenerative disease which will take his life.

His family already knows the drill…… they previously lost a child to this problem. She had undergone a tracheotomy procedure, and was allowed to die at home.

This time, it appears that the Canadians are clamping down with the cost containment. The tracheostomy is “not indicated” for a patient with this kind of terminal disease, although it used to be allowed. Apparently the money has gotten tighter up there, with that socialized medicine system.

Which do you think is worse for baby Joseph?….. intubated on a ventilator in the hospital, or a tracheostomy and vent at home? With all the publicity, security and legal intervention, he’s in limbo on the former. No secrets on where the Daily Mail reporter stands on this issue.

National Labor Relations Board accepted Free Advertising from Google

Union-Controlled NLRB Suddenly Pulls Google Ads on ‘How to Start a Union’ | LaborUnionReport.com.

The National Labor Relations Board, a governmental agency,  is funded by YOU,  and functions to encourage unionization.   It was noted that they had been running ads on Google, to this end, (worth big bucks) since 2008.

Observers figured that this was  $$ funded  $$ by You the taxpayer, and published this assumption.  This caused the NLRB to put a “fact check” on its site, announcing that those ads  were a free donation from Google.

Laborunionreport brought  up the second question as to whether the government run agency is supposed to accept freebies from a private business.

And THAT perhaps is what  caused the Google ads to suddenly disappear.  🙂

Now that the Union ads have come down from the big wide world web, perhaps Google would like to consider running them on a private intranet to teach its own employees how to unionize.  Wouldn’t that be fun?

 

 

Senate Democrats Give up Confirmation of Two Legged Death Panel, Donald Berwick

Senate Democrats Abandon Obama Rationing Czar Donald Berwick | LifeNews.com.

The Senate Dems have dispaired of overcoming the filibuster promised by Republicans to overcome confirmation of Obama Nominee Donald Berwick  as Medicaid, Medicare and Obamacare administrator.

Berwick has been an avid proponent of UK style socialized medicine and rationing, though he pretended to back away from this during the process of his nomination.

Obama had used a recess appointment to overcome Republican opposition to his nomination, but without senate confirmation the temporary  appointment is over by the end of the year.

 

Mayor Daley Nephew, R.J. Vanecko qualifies for political office

In Chicago….

Homicide case involving Daley nephew closed without charges – Chicago Sun-Times.

Richard J Vanecko is accused of punching out a much smaller guy, David Koschman, in 2004.  Koschman died 11 days later in a hospital.

The police investigation of the killing was identified as “CLEARED, CLOSED/EXCEPTIONALLY”

Ald.  Howard Brookins and Ald. Freddrenna Lyle are interested in further investigation of police handling of this matter.

Pharmer says……. par for the course in Chicago, and it just adds to the resume of a person interested in  political life.

Christian Copts Rehabilitation Center for Handicapped Targeted for Demolition in Egypt

Look where you have to go to get news of what’s happening to Christians in Egypt.

Ahmed Dia-el-Din, Governor of Minya has been extorting huge amounts of money from Coptic Christians.  He demanded that families in the village of Saeed Abdelmassih  come up with a million pounds or donate land to build a mosque in  this place which has no Muslims.  When they refused to pay, he ordered demolition of three homes, which was accomplished on Feb 28th.   The governor is also threatening to demolish a Coptic  community center  (Mallawi Diocese) which serves for rehabilitation and education of special needs youth.   So far, demonstrations and anger from the Coptic communities have forstalled this.

The Egyptian Initiative for Personal Rights has reported 53  actions by Muslims against Copts  from 2008 to 2010,  Of 29 districts,  the Minya governorate leads the pack  with 21 incidents.

Budget Gimmicks in Obamacare

$500 billion represents a slowdown of the growth of medicare over 12 years, Sebelius says.

How do you think that medicare growth will slow down, particularly with the baby boomers entering that phase of life?
Through killing off the elderly by means of the worst shortages of meds for critical care that we’ve ever seen, through the “unintended” consequences of HIPAA “privacy protections” and through direct rationing of care…. just thought you ought to know.

In addition, Sebelius reveals double counting of the “savings” as revealed in this hearing, and questioning by Rep. Shimkus of Illinois.
