Lefties and Giffords’ Father Accuse the Tea Party

But Jared Lee Loughner, who critically wounded Congresswoman Gabrielle Giffords, and killed or injured many others,  does not fit that profile.

Coming from ABC:

In the same video, Loughner accuses the government of mind control.

“In conclusion, reading the second United States Constitution, I can’t trust the current government because of the ratifications: The government is implying mind control and brainwash on the people by controlling grammar. No! I won’t pay debt with a currency that’s not backed by gold and silver! No! I won’t trust in God!” it says.

In the YouTube profile, the account holder, identified as Loughner, lists “The Communist Manifesto” and “Mein Kampf” among his favorite books.

Amazing that even ABC has put a pointer on what really is Loughner’s problem.

Meanwhile the Lefties (who, if they were normal, could have cooler heads) are echoing Spencer Giffords’  emotional outburst.

Spelling the main point out,  in case a leftie reads this…..  Teapartiers wouldn’t list Mein Kampf and the Communist Manifesto as their favorite reads.

The leftist moral tenet that criminal profiling is wrong,  as well as the seeming incapability for analytical thought,  will continue to cause   more untimely deaths.

Boehner has been elected Speaker of the House

Congress Returns | C-SPAN.   Pharmer watched Pelosi’s smile turn into a grimace, as she listened to 260 members of congress voting against her:  241 for Boehner, 173 Pelosi, with 19 voting  for others, or present.

Those 19 congressmen were all Democrats.  This amount of party  defection from the “chosen” Pelosi marks the worst showing of such a contender in since 1923.

One interesting sign of Pelosi’s  disconnect was her exit speech, mentioning all of her “accomplishments” for which the voters had removed her party from power.   Was she making sure we don’t forget, or rubbing our faces in it?

Washington is So Busy Over the Holidays

Robert M. McDowell: The FCC’s Threat to Internet Freedom – WSJ.com.

For one,  the FCC has  Democrat support for its effort to regulate the internet.  Mainly the Dems would like you to believe that they opposed the Net Neutrality rules with which the FCC wanted to regulate the cable and phone companies.  That’s not really the case, and while you are busy with snow and holidays, job or job hunting, the push for more government control is taking place.

Also while you extremely busy,  the don’t ask, don’t tell policy of the military has been repealed. All the things the Dems wanted to do, but were afraid to try before the elections are being pushed through.  This push has been accompanied by  talk of resuming the military draft, which may become necessary over time due to increased difficulty in recruiting a volunteer force.  For years, the ethically challenged Democrat Charlie Rangel has been the point man supporting this effort. Lately his legislative efforts offer a choice between ‘national service’ and military service.

Even the extension of the Bush Tax Cuts (meaning your taxes will remain the same for two more years)  was packed with Democrat spending, and a compromise to extend the unemployment funding.  Though the Dems and media present STATIC TAX RATES as cost to the government,  it would be good to remember that only the spending portions added to the extension bill fall in this category.   It is not a cost to the goverment to allow you to keep the same proportion of your income for another two years.

The START treaty, (a method to decrease U.S. nuclear preparedness while allowing Russia to proceed unabated) is being jammed through before the end of the year, without paying attention to the contents.  Sen Jon Kyl of Arizona is to be credited for his early opposition to this treaty.  Mitch McConnell appears to be waking up to reality.  Sen Dick Lugar of Indiana (home of many RINOS)  is still exhibiting signs of encroaching dementia (liberalism).

An attempt to pass an Omnibus Budget Bill, written long ago by Sen Dan Inouye,  (in anticipation of Democrat defeat in November) failed in the Senate over the weekend . Harry Reid has pulled the bill.  This is the bill most noted for a large pack of old spending earmarks, for which Dems can claim most of the credit.

Federal Roundup of Elections, and the Lame Duck Session

Randy Altschuler has conceded to Tim Bishop in New York’s district 1.  This brings the Republican gain to 63 seats in the House.

Meanwhile,  Joe Miller is continuing his court battle against Lisa Murkowski in Alaska’s senate election, with a decision from the state court due on Friday.  It’s expected that Miller will appeal to the state supreme court if he is not successful.

The real fun is watching those racist Democrats pounding Obama on his tax compromise with the Republicans.   Obamanator gave in on extending Bush tax cuts for all tax PAYERS, in exchange for extension of unemployment benefits.  But the Dems in congress are pushing  Obama  under the bus on this issue.    In addition, the bill to repeal “don’t ask, don’t tell” has gone down in the Senate, due to a republican agreement to stop all bills until the tax cuts are handled.   Joe Lieberman promises to resurrect it again as a stand-alone bill.

The Dems have also dumped the DREAM act,  an alternate path to citizenship, which really didn’t matter since benefits for illegal aliens, in some states, actually exceed those available to American citizens.

Here’s hoping for a gridlocked  lame duck session, and a happier New Year.   The less that happens in Washington, the better off we are.

House May Block Food Safety Bill Over Senate Error : Roll Call

via House May Block Food Safety Bill Over Senate Error : Roll Call.

Senate Bill 510, the Food Safety bill which gives the  FDA more authority over food regulation, and putting  small food producers out of business,   is hung up due to a violation of congressional authority.   The Senate bill has tax in it.  Taxes are supposed to be initiated in the House.  Whupsie,  Harry Reid screwed up  again.

The house will throw it back to the Senate, and they’ll have to rework it.  This would normally require the cooperation of the republicans.

Maybe the bill will DIE this year.  One can only hope.

Committee suspends trial of Maxine Waters’ ethics case, has found new evidence.

Waters accuses Ethics of having weak case after calling off her trial – The Hill’s Blog Briefing Room.

In contrast to the convicted  Charlie Rangel,    Waters is planning a vigorous legal defense, using attorneys specialized in ethics matters.

The democrat congresswoman says that her ethics trial is suspended because the case is weak.

Pharmer thinks that Waters “knows where the bodies are buried”.
