FOX News -Not Leading Edge News Source for Pro-lifers

A good number of social conservatives regard FOX news as fair and balanced, and a good source of news that other networks choose to lose.  This has sometimes, but not always been the case.

It used to be that when a pro-life health care professional was fired, demoted or suffered other kinds of discrimination for their refusal to kill patients, almost no news coverage would result.

Breaking into the news on this issue required the development and use of the internet.  Once the information reached critical mass there, it was then possible to get some mainstream media attention.   In other words, it had to become sufficiently common knowledge before the media would feel obligated to cover it.

Once the news about being fired for refusing to dispense abortive drugs had sufficient internet attention, and made a few local news papers, and the American Center for Law and Justice put out a press release about a lawsuit, then Bill O’Reilly got interested enough to cover it.   Actually many local FOX news reporters inquired and attempted to set up interviews, but their EDITORS could never find the time or means for them to follow up.  Instead, FOX news generally  left it to NBC,CBS and ABC (and international media)  to cover the desire to avoid chemically killing unborn humans as a freak show.

In an interesting contrast, FOX has decided to extensively cover a Nurse who was fired before Christmas for refusing a flu vaccine because she is pregnant.  She was fearful of using an vaccines during her current pregnancy because of a recent history of miscarriages.  She cites the comparative lack of studies of flu vaccine use during pregnancy.   (It’s not uncommon for vaccines to go into general use without extensive safety and efficacy data in various subpopulations.)

Your friendly Pharmer would not be using the flu vaccine at this time of life, if it were not a job requirement. It is possible through personal hygiene practices to significantly reduce the likelihood of infection.  Most vaccines, (which confer only partial protection against disease)  are more helpful  for the people who do not exercise a knowledge of infectious processes in their daily living habits. Kids who are too young to be personally hygienic can benefit from certain vaccines, for example. The population whose Mamas did not teach to wash their hands after going potty would obtain significant overall  benefits from such a public health program.  Where cleanliness is not possible as a means to prevent disease, the vaccines confer the most benefit.  As the “environmental engineering” departments  inside hospitals become defunded, due to the crunch of socialized medicine,  and the filth becomes apparent to the naked eye, vaccines will become more and more necessary in the United States.

Pharmer feels empathy for the nurse who was fired on Dec 17th, likely after she blew the big dollars  on various Christmas preparations.  This is basically due to a instinct towards freedom, bodily autonomy, and the right to choose one’s own form of hygiene, as well as having gotten the boot at a similar time of year.
Pharmer is happy that FOX decided to cover the story, so that people can see the heavy hand of governments and corporations encroaching on personal bodily integrity.  Prayers for Ms. Dreonna Breton, for her baby-on-board, and her future job prospects in nursing.

Pharmer is still wondering which government bodies and advertisers stopped FOX News from similarly covering those  pro-lifers who were fired for refusing to dispense chemically abortive drugs, and left the stories  to all of the other U.S. and international media outlets.  The decision by FOX News and the U.S. Catholic Bishops to ignore this issue is the reason that that we now  face the spectre of the HHS mandate (temporarily stayed by Justice Sonia Sotomayor last night), which will force participating U.S. citizens to be complicit in birth control, sterilization and abortion practices, despite their religious beliefs.

Go to your alternative media for the news that FOX chooses to lose.  Lifenews is growing by leaps and bounds, and as an important source of info and events which get NO coverage elsewhere, is worth your attention, and perhaps your monetary support.

Edward Snowden Shines Light on NSA Snooping, then Drops out of Sight

Edward Snowden, the whistle blower who  allowed us to know how extensively the National Security Administration has encroached on our privacy, has disappeared from sight, shortly after allowing his identity to be made public.

Snowden provided information on the process, but not the content or details of NSA snooping on all internet communications via a program called Prism. All of the major internet service providers have signed on to this program, which allows the NSA access to the information on their servers, without a warrant.

Snowden had fled to Hong Kong, in the hope that its vague extradition laws (presently in a state of flux) will allow him to avoid being sent back to the U.S. Russia has indicated a possible willingness to grant political asylum to the whistle-blower, according to their newspaper, Kommersant.

The UK Guardian is the main media purveyor of Snowden’s information to the public, though the Washington Post published part of an NSA power point presentation which he provided on the topic.

James Clapper, the director of national intelligence, is predictably wanting the head of Edward Snowden.  Others, such as former Representative Ron Paul, say: “We should be thankful for individuals like Edward Snowden”.

Pharmer is leaning more towards Ron Paul’s opinion, as the executive agencies of government are being used as tools for administrative vengeance on those who disagree with the party line.

Glen Greenwald, Guardian reporter on the Snowden story assures us that more revelations are yet to come.

Among pro-lifers, the question in the air is:  Without a right to Privacy, what happens to the main argument for the legalization of abortion?

William Binney, who worked for the National Security Agency for 40 years, quit after 911 had moved his employer to what he felt was excessive snooping on American citizens. He believes that all phone companies, and not just Verizon are involved in turning over records of calls to the NSA.

The surprise to many of those reporting on this issue of monitoring phone data is that it has continued and has drastically increased since Bush left office.

An internet surveillance program called PRISM, started in 2007 under Bush, and has also massively increased during the reign of  Obama. A report by another whistle blower reveals that internet giants Microsoft, Yahoo, Google, Facebook, Pal Talk, AOL, Skype, YouTube, and Apple are submitting to government snooping into the private data of their users. Apple is said not to have joined this effort until 2012,  after Steve Jobs had died. Perhaps this was part of the reason for the government attacks on the company.  Microsoft was purportedly the first company to jump  on board with the program.
The threat of lawsuits and “regulation” from the government has been enough to secure compliance from the companies.
Spokesmen from these companies continue to deny knowledge of government access to their databases.

It is interesting to watch some of the leftie media outlets responding to the idea that the government has been monitoring their private communications and internet activities, and that the Obama administration appears to have vastly increased the scope of the snooping.  This appears to have really gotten their attention.

Hacker Leaks Benghazi Emails

The hacker, Guccifer, who broke into email accounts of various people associated with government, has begun to share the goodies with the rest of the world.  We have news of the sharing but will have to wait for such media as Pravda,  Moscow Times, or St. Petersburg Times to let us know what is actually in the emails from Sidney Blumenthal to former Secretary of State Hillary Clinton.

Clinton is at this time is making waves by coming out of the closet on gay marriage, perhaps to distract us from the fact that her compatriot’s  email account is not very secure.

It’s worth a look at the Smoking Gun to see just how a Guccifer decided to handle the digital booty obtained from illegal email snooping.   What did former Clinton aide and Hillary’s confidante, Sidney Blumenthal have to say about the Benghazi consulate attack?  Enquiring minds want to know.

The abortion supporters  promote the now moribund “Choice” marketing of Abortion,  though planned parenthood has abandoned it.  Casting about for alternate promotional methods, PP has abused the image and holiday of Rev. Martin Luther King, whom his niece, Dr. Althea King, says was pro-life,  for its latest campaign.

As the Abortion proponents use today as a special time  to market their wares,  Pro-lifers can turn the day into a big debate.  Don’t forget to remind people that the 40th anniversary March for Life is happening on the 25th, and that the media will ignore this huge rally,  even though it will be bigger than the crowd at the second inauguration of our abortionist-in-chief.

Google Bans Firearm Accessory Sales on Its Shopping Services.

Hamlund Tactical Received a letter from Google Shopping  announcing that it is banning the promotion of firearms, guns, knives and related accessories.  Merchants are to remove such items from their data feed to Google.

You can see other items which Google will no longer allowed to be promoted on its shopping services HERE.

See the new Search tool, called Startpage on the right side of this blog.  A similar one called DuckDuckGo is available.  These allow for private internet surfing, and conceal your isp from the search engines.   It appears that Bing has not followed Google’s lead, so far, and may benefit from the move.

Congressional Republicans are fairly productive today,   Let’s hope they keep up the pace.  Attached to the bill that will keep the government running are amendments to defund IRS collection of mandatory health care payments, an spending of the Dept of Health and Human Services on Obamacare.    They should also pinch off Kathleen Sebelius’s salary ;-).

Social networking under fresh attack as tide of cyber-scepticism sweeps US | Media | The Observer.

Yes, the leftie press is  criticizing the social interaction on the internet, as it becomes the more reliable mix for obtaining news, and edges out the old  media.

This article manufactures a luddite leftie movement harkening back to a  time  when (?) leftists used to talk to each other and assist each other in real life.

In the Blue cities, crimes  occur in plain view, out on the street, with no one intervening.   Urban denizens  die alone in their apartments, with no one wondering what happened until the remains are mummified, or degraded down to the bones.   So this article’s lament about the facebook suicide occurring without immediate intervention rings hollow.

The negative of internet surfing  and socializing is that it’s somewhat addictive, particularly in the cold winter months.   The positive aspect is that people with severe disabilities have been able to converse on an equal social footing  with others, in an online  setting, without notice given to their physical difficulties.

The availability of computers and  internet, coupled with  the ability to work from home,  has also decreased the waste of talent of those with physical limitations or mental illnesses.  Now that they have more available avenues of  productivity,   as well as a voice,  leftists have less excuse to “abort”  them at any stage of life.
