The U.S. Divorce Rate is Not Really 50 Percent

Number, Timing and Duration of Marriages and Divorces  up to 2009

Steven Crowder says that Liberals need to stop lying about divorce.  He suggests that the inflated numbers we’ve been hearing for many decades may be related to liberals excusing their own failures.  MEEOOOOWWW.   Here’s his opinion.

Where Crowder gets his idea is from the top link, a collection of data on marriage and divorce from the Survey of Income and Program Participation, (SIPP).

At worst, it appears that the divorce rate  approached a max of 40 percent, has been declining, and is at its lowest since 1970.

There’s the suggestion that government bureaucrats keep themselves employed as administrators of social programs by touting inflated divorce statistics.

The peak is 22.8 divorces per 1000 couples in 1979, which fell to 16.7 divorced per 1000 in 2005.

Google Bans Firearm Accessory Sales on Its Shopping Services.

Hamlund Tactical Received a letter from Google Shopping  announcing that it is banning the promotion of firearms, guns, knives and related accessories.  Merchants are to remove such items from their data feed to Google.

You can see other items which Google will no longer allowed to be promoted on its shopping services HERE.

See the new Search tool, called Startpage on the right side of this blog.  A similar one called DuckDuckGo is available.  These allow for private internet surfing, and conceal your isp from the search engines.   It appears that Bing has not followed Google’s lead, so far, and may benefit from the move.

News the Media Loses – Pro-life Bus Firebombed

Our Lady of the Sacred Heart Pro-Life Bus Firebombed in Rockford, Illinois | Video | TheBlaze.com.

The Blaze is covering the firebombing of a bus belonging to Our Lady of the Sacred Heart Academy, because the local media of Rockford, Illinois is ignoring it.
Perhaps they don’t want the perpetrators to be caught. It is noted that similar, and probably unrelated, damage to another vehicle over the same weekend did attract attention of local news reporters.

Perhaps some bad feelings over the closure of the Rockford abortion clinic fueled the attack on the bus, which is well known for carrying pro-life messages in the community.

As you can see, the bus is trashed:

For NYT, Evaluating Birth Control Mechanisms is Classed as POLITICAL SCIENCE

Science at Issue in Debate on Morning-After Pill – NYTimes.com.

Pharmer is immensely amused by the NYT Political Science article purporting that Plan B, levonorgestrel (a progestin – synthetic progesterone analog) delays ovulation but has no effect upon post fertilization mechanisms. This claim certainly has a relationship to political ideology, but not to pharmacological science.

There is the suggestion that Plan B can operate to impede ovulation even when taken 72 hours after intercourse.

The usual life of sperm is 48 hours, and The usual lifespan of secondary oocytes (eggs) is 1 day. The most fertile time for a woman is the day of, and the day after ovulation.

Laughably entertaining is the suggestion that there is no time for levonorgestrel to affect thickness or receptivity of the uterine lining, but there is time for it to always work by delaying ovulation. Scroll back up to the lifespan of the gametes and THEN ponder that it takes about 7 days for the early human embryo to travel down the fallopian tubes into the uterus and implant in the uterine lining.

Seven days is not long enough for the morning after pill to affect feedback inhibition, transport, endometrial tissue, and implantation processes, yet 48 hours is claimed to be long enough to exert a perfect 100 percent mechanism for delaying ovulation so that sperm and ‘egg’ don’t meet.  (Remember when a woman is most fertile, the day of and the day after ovulation?)   It’s pathetic when leftist ideology replaces scientific analysis and inquiry in such a blatantly obvious manner.

James Trussell (population controller of Princeton) has changed his tune about the efficacy of Plan B. Now he wants to say that the pill is ridiculously ineffective, so that condoms, rhythm, and withdrawal are far superior in efficacy as birth control. This is what he needs to admit in order to claim that the Plan B doesn’t work if a woman has ovulated.

Progesterone hormones have multiple mechanisms of action. Progesterone receptors are found in various tissues, and their preponderance and activity undergo cyclic changes. These hormones largely affect gene expression. These effects are not instantaneous. The physiological effects of progestins on reproduction vary with the timing of their use. The morning after pill’s modes of action will vary depending on when in the cycle and how long after intercourse they are used.

One cannot prescribe progestins to patients to mitigate hypermenorrhea (excessive bleeding), and at the same time claim that they don’t affect the uterine lining.

Progestins given on a scheduled basis fail to prevent ovulation in about half of patients. This has been attached to the labeling of progestin only pills, which have been used to control excessive bleeding, as well as to prevent pregnancy.

Plan B is a progestin. Ella is a selective progesterone receptor blocker (like mifepristone, RU456). Each one will affect the reproductive processes in different, dose dependent and time dependent ways. Political Science author Pam Belluck needs to consider the drugs separately when attempting to evaluate them mechanistically.

Plan B, levonorgestrel, like ALL hormones, operates on many physiological processes, by many different means.

If the leftists ever manage to develop effective birth control drugs which operate ONLY by preventing the union of sperm and egg, we may proceed with the constitutional amendments to accurately define human life with no further impediments.

Teen’s Video Banned on Youtube

Sixteen-year-old Madeleine McAulay, of North Carolina produced a video of her opinion on the definition of marriage. She thinks it should remain between one man and one women. Youtube found this video to be not in keeping with their policies. Breitbart.com is promulgating the video in order to counteract the censorship.

McAulay has a Bible based view, which will not please the anti-religion crowd.

Most are confused about the reasons for a social (governmental) recognition of marriage. It is not for the couple getting married. It is an institution to protect the process of producing and bringing up children. They do better in homes which have a father and a mother, and so this situation has been endorsed by society for many thousands of years. Gay unions do not result in the production of children. That kind of social, governmental protection is therefore not necessary.

Dana Loesch Commemorates “Weinerversary”, when New Media Bypassed Old Media

Happy Weinerversary: The Lessons of WeinerGate.

Memorial Day is a more solemn type of holiday, but Congressman Anthony Weiner provided us with a circus sideshow over this holiday weekend in 2011.

Dana Loesch recounts the days during which the conservative blogosphere overwhelmed the hush efforts by the main stream media, and eventually propelled one N.Y. Democrat Congressman, Anthony Weiner out of office, for showing his namesake to young ladies on yfrog social media.

The main point has not the particulars of Weiner’s very stupid actions, but a demonstration that the New Media of online bloggers and real journalists is fully capable of overwhelming the tired OLD Media. Collectively, all of us can fulfill the watchdog function which is protected in the First Amendment. This is what Andrew Breitbart showed us.

Breitbart is here.

Is it Time to Dump the Facebook Account?

Facebook Bans Tennessee Mother Heather Walker for Posting Photos of Baby Born With Severe Birth Defect Anencephaly | Video | TheBlaze.com.

Grayson Walker was born with a neural tube defect at the top of his head. Consequently this left him with a bit of a froggie facial appearance and only about 8 hours of life after birth. He’s had a profound effect on other people, however, since his parents chose to share his short existence with friends and family, and on Facebook. Give it up for Grayson, who didn’t have time or capacity for self pity, and has left plenty of us feeling more grateful for our own life and health.
Message the Pharmer about your favorite social media alternatives. The Tweeter is to the right on the sidebar.
It might be time pick another venue if Facebook operators thinks little Grayson is unsuitable, while permitting countless gross and disgusting pages and profiles. Lets see whether they will rearrange their priorities.

Mitt Romney’s prep school classmates recall pranks, but also troubling incidents – The Washington Post.

Mind you, this leftist rag and and many others gave Clinton a pass for forcing sex upon unwilling women, but CUTTING another student’s hair is regarded as an unforgivable imposition.

Graphic Surveillance Video Of Kelly Thomas Beating Shown In Court. Shhhhhh it’s a Secret

Graphic Surveillance Video Of Kelly Thomas Beating Shown In Court « CBS Los Angeles.

Fullerton, CA cops beat Kelly Thomas, a  schizophrenic homeless man, to death last summer (July 2011), and  the incident is under investigation.   So far the story  has garnered only local news attention. The main reason for the disinterest is that it has no value for WAGGING the RACE WAR.

There’s a video of the proceedings at the above link.  Most are likely to conclude that the cops used excessive force.  There will be no demonstrations nor riots in response to this event.
