Female Attendance Down at TAM, the Annual Atheists Meeting

Religion News Service | Culture | Gender & Sexuality | Do atheists have a sexual harassment problem?.

There is conjecture about the reasons for a relative reduction in female attendance at the annual TAM gathering of skeptics. This year, women only comprise 31 percent of the 1200 attendees, compared to 40 percent at last years meeting. Reasons given range from the declining economy to typically female duties as caregivers. Men outnumber females in the Atheist or skeptic category, but it appears that the disparity might be increasing.

Another possible reason for the reduced attendance, judging from the gossip at online forums and blogs are reports of sexual harassmen, sexism and unwanted touching at the meetings. This has led to the institution of sexual harassment policies in various skeptic associations, and pressure on the TAM leadership to do the same. TAM has hired an outside consultant to address matters of sexual harassment.

Man Facing Jail For Hosting Home Bible Study |Todd Starnes.

Pastor Michael Salman has been harassed by Phoenix City officials for years, concerning Bible studies which were held on his 4.6 acre property, with as many as 20 people in attendance.

After Salman built a two thousand square foot outbuilding the City of Phoenix is planning to jail him for zoning violations.
It would have been OK to use that building as a game room as it had been described in the building permits. Bible studies are not considered suitable entertainment activity so the rules which apply to public businesses and churches have been brought to bear on Salman. He faces 60 days in jail, $12180 in fines and 3 years probation.

LeRoy Carhart, Late Term Abortionist on Board of Religious Coalition for Reproductive Choice

Methodist, Episcopal, Presbyterian Churches Tied to Late-Term Abortion Doc | LifeNews.com.

Susan Michelle Tyrrell has been outing Churches  affiliated with the Religious Coalition for Reproductive Choice, the pro-abortion group which lobbies for this as well as legitimization of gay marriages. In her latest article she reveals that late term abortionist LeRoy Carhart is on the board of directors of the RCRC. Carhart has been looking for a new place to land since Nebraska passed fetal pain legislation which prohibits abortion after 20 weeks. He’s been trying to open new clinics in states which allow his special killing skills.

You can click HERE to see pics of Leroy Carhart’s homey and inviting Nebraska abortion facility. You’ll be impressed.  Operation Rescue called it the “Dumpatorium”.  As an added treat, you’ll also see the Carharts at the 2007 party that Kathleen Sebelius threw for abortionist George Tiller.

Reading the  historical timeline of the RCRC might convince members of the Presbyterian, United Methodist, and Episcopal Churches that they ought to do something about their affiliation with this organization and with one of the most notorious late term abortionists, LeRoy Carhart.    Click HERE for a full list of the member churches.

Now Obamacare Faces the Religious Freedom Challenges

Becket Fund’s HHS Mandate Challenge | Becket Fund.

There are dozens of federal lawsuits based upon the violations of human rights, that are expressed in the Sebelius HHS Mandate of Obamacare. At issue is its funding of birth control, sterilization and abortion, by forcing people to pay for it in violation of their religion. Obamacare also provides these services to minors without parental consent. Alliance Defense Fund has a fact sheet explaining these aspects of Obamacare.

The Colson center outlines the coming legal challenges to Obamacare in an article HERE.

In addition to religious affiliated organizations, private businesses owned by people of conscience are also filing suit against the Obamacare mandate, for example, O’Brien Industrial Holdings, LLC, represented by the American Center for Law and Justice.

United Methodist Church pro-abortion ideology might have aborted Jesus | Bound4LIFE

United Methodist Church pro-abortion ideology might have aborted Jesus | Bound4LIFE.

Susan Michelle Tyrrell has noticed the same thing that Pharmer noticed awhile back, that the United Methodist Church is an abortion supporting organization and a member of the “O”bominable Religious Coalition for Reproductive Choice.
She quotes directly from the United Methodists Social Principles in its Book of Discipline: “The beginning of life and the ending of life are the God-given boundaries of human existence. While individuals have always had some degree of control over when they would die, they now have the awesome power to determine when and even whether new individuals will be born.”

Yes, this church presumes to take over the decisions which should be regarded as exclusively in the purview of the Creator. Tyrrell notes that the Church has many pro-life members who might not be paying attention to what the church leadership is doing with their donations.

The United Methodist’s support of abortion is unmistakable: “Our belief in the sanctity of unborn human life makes us reluctant to approve abortion. But we are equally bound to respect the sacredness of the life and well-being of the mother, for whom devastating damage may result from an unacceptable pregnancy.”

Tyrrell notes that the United Methodists rationale for supporting abortion would have encompassed the socially unacceptable pregnancy of Mary. Yes, it would have been ok with the United Methodists to abort Jesus.

Pharmer has had to make the same kind of decision that Tyrrell appears to be asking the pro-life members of the United Methodist Church to make, and that is to avoid funding the support of abortion.

Pharmer’s parish appears to be picking churches from the member list of the Religious Coalition for Reproductive Choice for service experiences for the grade school kids. Yours truly has had to keep her number three kid home from the Jr. National Honor Society service trips, and the eighth grade service trip in order to avoid indirectly supporting this organization and its member churches. It’s kind of sad to have a feeling of not fitting into one’s parish for ethical reasons, and for that to be affecting the kids adversely. Fortunately there are Clergy and administrators who try harder to avoid complicity with the culture of death, and Pharmer is keeping an eye out.

Whoa! The Canadian Bishops Have Noticed!!

Canadian Bishops: Abortion Threatens Religious Freedom | LifeNews.com.

Pharmer has been on the case of the USCCB for ignoring the state and federal assaults on religious freedom, particularly with respect to the health care professionals who refuse to kill their patients. Canada, under the scourge of socialized medicine for decades, has had a longer history of egregious assaults on ethical practice in health care. You can visit the Conscience Laws website to get a view of this.

Lifenews chronicles a momentous occurrence! The Canadian Bishops have noticed that abortion has wreaked havoc on religious freedom in that country!! and have issued a public response. This coincides with the grass roots resurgence of pro-life-ism in that country.

This LATE LATE response is more evidence that TOP DOWN orders from the Vatican, and grass roots pressures are compelling many of these sleeping Bishops to take action.
