Michael Nutter, Philly Mayor Plain Speaking to Flash Mobs and Parents

Philadelphia Mayor Michael Nutter Calls Out Youths, Flash Mobs, and Parents | Video | TheBlaze.com.

All 30 min of Mayor Michael Nutter’s speach is available below.
He calls on the kids to get a job, dress to get a job (no more hoodies and pants on the ground), and for parents to supervise the kids, and for fathers to be more than “sperm donors”.

Highlights:
“If you walk into somebody’s office with your hair uncombed and a pick in the back, and your shoes untied, and your pants half down, tattoos up and down your arms and on your neck, and you wonder why somebody won’t hire you? They don’t hire you ’cause you look like you’re crazy!”
“The Immaculate Conception of our Lord Jesus Christ took place a long time ago, and it didn’t happen here in Philadelphia. So every one of these kids has two parents who were around and participating at the time. They need to be around now.”

* technical note: the Immaculate Conception refers to Mary being born without sin, (Catholic doctrine) rather than Jesus being born of a Virgin (a separate and general Christian doctrine).  But the general message of Mayor Nutter is a good one.

  1. Thank's, Mayor. As a Retired Vet USA, two tour's w/1/75, your comment's regarding my downed Brother's meant alot to me. You also smoked out the bad behavior of our youth. Good job, and good luck. God Bless America, Sir.

  2. To Mr. Michael Nutter,

I heard the sound bites of your message in church on Fox News and could not agree with you more, I have a daughter living in Center City who majored and works in Philly as a Social worker trying to better the lives of those who want a better life or have been misled or misguided in life in the wrong direction. When I listened to your whole speech you gave at church I could not agree with you more. I will share this with every parent, grandparent, brother, sister, cousin, nieces, nephews, friends and with my Christian church family here in NH and everywhere …because this is not just a message for Philly but for our country and the world to hear. Thank you for speaking candidly without the PC rhetoric society has been dumb down with. As a conservative we may sit across the aisle from each other but as one family in Christ we are united….so Thank you for making a public stand for your faith and what is right.

    Respectfully,

    Greg Johns
