Psssst……… Nashville Record Flood SECRET is out

Normally Pharmer doesn’t cover disasters too much because everybody else does.

There are not too many country music fans in the mainstream media,   so the fact that Nashville was very rapidly submerged  in its biggest flood on record, and over 30 lives were lost, has been upstaged by  the oil rig explosion,  and such momentous things as Chaz Bono’s  happiness with the sex change operation.

Newsweek magazine  (yes, the one that is up for sale now)  apparently took some time to flagellate itself over the lack of media coverage.

People picking themselves up from disaster and moving on is  certainly not as exciting as listening to the caterwauling of those who could not live and breath without government help.

Country Music performer, John Rich has written a song dedicated to Nashville and  is pushing for donations to the Red Cross.  So if you want to help those who are helping themselves,   here’s a  conglomeration of  local relief efforts which are accepting donations of money,   material goods, and  time.

From Left of Center…….. lib explains that Cinco de Mayo is a Beer Holiday

Viva Cinco De Mayo – ocularnervosa – Open Salon.

If you’d be disbelieving to hear it from the right thinkers………  take it from the other side.  Corona Beer Company inflated a minor date in Mexican history to sell its product in the U.S.

People here in the U.S.  are going nutz,  thinking this is a special day to Mexicans,  but nope………. it’s significant only to those who are well versed in  their history, and they don’t even get a day off work to commemorate Mexico rebuffing an attack from France.

This makes that  action of the Live Oaks School officials  in Morgan Hill, CA, to demand that students remove their American Flag clothing, or go home on Cinco de Mayo  even more ridiculous.

There will be first amendment based lawsuits.

Here’s that Russian Internet Rumor

…. about the North Korean attack on the BP oil rig in the Gulf of Mexico.

Kremlin/Internet Rumor: North Korea suicide torpedos hit Deep Horizon Oil Platform | Intelligence Quarterly.

Intelligence Quarterly states that there’s no evidence to substantiate the rumor.

There IS evidence to substantiate the rumor that our environmentalists and whacked out government think that the Russians, Chinese, Mexico, Brazil,  and everyone else  will impact the environment less when They drill for oil, and we should just let them have it all.

The Pill turns 50 this Month and a Salon Writer Notices Some Downsides

Why I hate the pill – Drugs – Salon.com.

Jill Stanek caught this one today…….. the downside of the pill has been noticed over at Salon.com.

Pharmer  has been dispensing   the anticoagulant meds to plenty of young patients  on the pill,  over the years,  and sees more future lawsuits in the making as the reticence about reproductive issues disappears entirely.

Perhaps this loss of reticence will lead to demands by women that regard for their safety in medical matters  become more on par with that of men.

Highlighted in the Salon article is the loss of libido suffered by many women who take the hormonal contraceptives.    For these women, taking the pill isn’t  liberating, because they’re  not obtaining the primary, expected benefit  from delivering the goods to the guys,  no strings attached.

So many  women are all about self sacrifice, even when they don’t realize  it.

Lowering the Bar for Presidential Behavior

Inside the Beltway – Washington Times.

Pharmer always thought that  Lefties were revealing something personal about themselves when they took up use of the term “Teabagger” to denote the Tea Partiers.

You remember what Teabagger means, and that most of the Tea Partiers had never heard of that particular kinky sex act before the libs told them all about it.

Now Obama has taken up the use of “Teabagger” to disparage the opposition, and, yes, Pharmer feels certain that he’s telling us something about himself as well.

Nurse News

Keeping track of the pro-life nurses…….

Remember  Cathy Cenzon-DeCarlo, who sued Mt Sinai Hospital in New York this past summer for coercing her to participate in an abortion procedure under falsely represented circumstances ? Though no medical emergency existed,  this nurse was threatened with loss of her job and nursing license if she did not assist with the procedure.

Cenzon-DeCarlo, with the Alliance Defense Fund  has initiated a second suit against the hospital  in the State of New York, in addition to the initial Federal lawsuit which is on appeal, based on violation of her rights of conscience.

Meanwhile, eight more nurses  have received an apology from Nassau University Hospital in Long Island for disciplinary action after they refused to take part in non-emergency abortion procedures.

Abortion Coercion by the Dept. of Human Services in PA?

Did DHS pressure teen to get abortion? | Philadelphia Daily News | 05/03/2010.

The attempt to squelch this story indicates that it is  true.

A 16 year old foster child, pregnant for the second time,  is said  to have been told that her first child would be taken from her if she did not get a late term abortion.  According to the news report, this claim comes from her foster mother and  her social worker, formerly employed by Concilio and subcontracted by DHS.

The girl  was eventually taken from school to a clinic in  New Jersey because abortions at 24 weeks are not permitted in Pennsylvania.

The Philadelphia daily news gives  a detailed coverage of this story, and VERY IMPORTANTLY,  notes the attempt by the Dept of Human Services to have the story squelched.

This story is spreading fast in the prolife news venues,  but  hasn’t been spotted by the Pharmer on national  wires yet.

The long report is worth reading for the main story of abortion  coercion,  the claim that the social worker, Marisol Rivera, was fired for refusing to take the girl for an abortion,  and some  DHS  statistics enumerating the abortions in which they have played a role.

Excess Flu Vaccine after the Shortage

We saw this after the last flu panic too……  loads of wasted flu vaccine after incidents of rationing and vaccine hoarding.

U.S. has 71 million unused flu vaccine doses | Reuters.

The same thing happened this year after the H1N1 panic.  Vaccine became widely available only after the flu had abated.

Interested in obtaining the vaccine waned when it became apparent that the panic was overblown, and as usual, the  CDC and other government advisory groups had  little knowledge about this strain of flu virus.

What’s left is the usual government waste:  almost 70 million  unused H1H1 flu vaccine doses.

Note that the above linked article pretends to have a figure of  U.S. deaths caused by H1N1 virus.   That number is actually unknown.

From the memory division of the Pharm,  here’s  a blast from the 2004/2005 flu season  when the fears of  shortage drove Illinois governor Blagojevich to order unapproved vaccines from Europe, which were eventually wasted..

Your tax dollars at work………

Artificial Deflation of Unemployment.

My Way News – GAO: Census has computer problem.

The above linked article tells you all about the ineptitude of the government, its  inability to handle the census data, and the extreme waste of money going into the collection of it.

One figure of extreme interest is that 635,000 people have been hired to visit a total of 48 million American homes.   Each person is trained for four days, and then expected to visit homes which did not respond using the census forms.  This translates to 76 homes per census worker.  While it is understood that some of these households are remote,  it is obvious that census employment is VERY TEMPORARY.

This job is without benefits,  it may require utilizing the automobile of the employee, and it removes this person from the unemployment rolls, whether they are actually engaged in work, or whether they are waiting, without pay in the census employment pool.

Please remember this artificial deflation of the unemployment figures while you are evaluating government generated employment statistics.

Also remember that malfunctioning computer programs are being used for accumulation and analysis of the census data.
