David Epstein, Palin Hating Leftist, in a bit of trouble

Middle Aged Crazy
David Epstein

Columbia professor is charged with incest, accused of bedding a young relative for 3 years – NY Daily news.

Political science professor, David Epstein,  a well known fixture of Columbia, frequent media source of political comentary,  and sometime blogger at Huffington Post,  may be a bit less visible in coming months.

He’s busy with charges of incest, for allegedly  having a three year sexual relationship with a relative.

Just checking:   This relationship is said to have started after the victim turned 18.  Epstein is 46.  Cousins are permitted to marry in New York, (but not in Kentucky 🙂  ). So, for this relationship to be illegal for reasons of incest, the relationship is apparently closer than first cousin.

Wandering through the blogosphere, we find that the relationship has apparently  been with his daughter, now 24, and that his facebook page now lists him as single.

What is with these leftists?

Much more opinion and commentary is available HERE, juxtaposing Epstein’s political views and his current troubles.

Missouri Pro-Life Bill Protects Pharmacists Conscience Rights | LifeNews.com

Missouri Pro-Life Bill Protects Pharmacists Conscience Rights | LifeNews.com.

Missouri State Rep.  David Sater has introduced a conscience protection bill for pharmacists, who opt not to sell abortive drugs.

It is of course, opposed by Planned Parenthood, whose assessment of which drugs are abortive changes depending on the audience.

This bill is to address problems pharmacists have faced in the past for refusing to dispense drugs which end human life at its earliest stages.

Heather Williams, an adherent Baptist was fired in 2006 by Target in Missouri for refusing to dispense the morning after pill, a drug which can stop the implantation of an early human embryo, thereby killing it.

Federal Roundup of Elections, and the Lame Duck Session

Randy Altschuler has conceded to Tim Bishop in New York’s district 1.  This brings the Republican gain to 63 seats in the House.

Meanwhile,  Joe Miller is continuing his court battle against Lisa Murkowski in Alaska’s senate election, with a decision from the state court due on Friday.  It’s expected that Miller will appeal to the state supreme court if he is not successful.

The real fun is watching those racist Democrats pounding Obama on his tax compromise with the Republicans.   Obamanator gave in on extending Bush tax cuts for all tax PAYERS, in exchange for extension of unemployment benefits.  But the Dems in congress are pushing  Obama  under the bus on this issue.    In addition, the bill to repeal “don’t ask, don’t tell” has gone down in the Senate, due to a republican agreement to stop all bills until the tax cuts are handled.   Joe Lieberman promises to resurrect it again as a stand-alone bill.

The Dems have also dumped the DREAM act,  an alternate path to citizenship, which really didn’t matter since benefits for illegal aliens, in some states, actually exceed those available to American citizens.

Here’s hoping for a gridlocked  lame duck session, and a happier New Year.   The less that happens in Washington, the better off we are.

Chase orders Southlake bank to remove Christmas tree | Northeast Tarrant | News from For…

Chase orders Southlake bank to remove Christmas tree | Northeast Tarrant | News from For….

An order from headquarters forced a local bank to remove a  DONATED Christmas tree, because some people were offended.  Perhaps this corporation is adhering to new rules associated with the bank bailout which they accepted. (Yes this is a taxpayer supported business.)

Do you think a boycott by those offended by the impoliteness and hostility of JP Morgan Chase would help???  After all, a business which needs bailout money  is probably already unhealthy and maybe natural selection needs to run its course.

Meanwhile, McDermott and the Dems are invoking the spirit of Christmas in order to trash Republicans for not extending the unemployment benefits. Current law states that new expenditures are to paid for, but the Dems were not willing to use the unspent TARP slush funds to fund their new spending proposal, as the Republicans proposed.

Obama’s SEIU Goons Drop Health Coverage for Kids of Low Income Members in New York

1199SEIU to Drop Health Coverage for Workers’ Children – Metropolis – WSJ.

It’s difficult to pay for getting Obama elected, pay for thugs to beat up Teapartiers,  and bus paid demonstraters to rallies across the country.  Those necessary things tend to drain a union budget.

Something had to go………..

Health care for the kids of thirty thousand low wage home attendants HAD TO GO!

First things First.

Also,  SEIU has two retirement funds, one for the big shots, and one for the rank and file workers.

You KNOW which one is declared by the government to be in critically insolvent condition. …………    Of COURSE!  The Worker’s Fund.

See what a GOOD JOB other Unions have been doing for their workers retirements, while blowing money on their favorite special interests and politicians.

House May Block Food Safety Bill Over Senate Error : Roll Call

via House May Block Food Safety Bill Over Senate Error : Roll Call.

Senate Bill 510, the Food Safety bill which gives the  FDA more authority over food regulation, and putting  small food producers out of business,   is hung up due to a violation of congressional authority.   The Senate bill has tax in it.  Taxes are supposed to be initiated in the House.  Whupsie,  Harry Reid screwed up  again.

The house will throw it back to the Senate, and they’ll have to rework it.  This would normally require the cooperation of the republicans.

Maybe the bill will DIE this year.  One can only hope.
