It could be that, or it could be insufficient manpower, as mentioned in last week’s post on the topic of Portland’s sex slave trade.

The city of Portland Oregon sees fit to have only two officers on it’s vice squad, possibly because i’s situation as a major hub of underage sex trafficking (slaves) is palatable enough to it’s “young, green, hip” population. Those adjectives are Washington Times code words for liberal.
This phenomenon in Oregon, vying with Amsterdam for pollution and abuse of minors, fits neatly as a finishing piece in the puzzle of liberal programs which encourage sexual activity in the very young, conceal the sexual abuse of minors, allow minors to obtain abortions without parental consent, leave parents completely out of the sex education in the public schools, and allow school officials to supply birth control to minors, and transport them for abortions.
Portland Oregon is the ‘reward’ liberals have gotten for their efforts, and given their unwillingness to address the obvious problem, one can safely assume that most of them like it this way.

The attempt to squelch this story indicates that it is true.
A 16 year old foster child, pregnant for the second time, is said to have been told that her first child would be taken from her if she did not get a late term abortion. According to the news report, this claim comes from her foster mother and her social worker, formerly employed by Concilio and subcontracted by DHS.
The girl was eventually taken from school to a clinic in New Jersey because abortions at 24 weeks are not permitted in Pennsylvania.
The Philadelphia daily news gives a detailed coverage of this story, and VERY IMPORTANTLY, notes the attempt by the Dept of Human Services to have the story squelched.
This story is spreading fast in the prolife news venues, but hasn’t been spotted by the Pharmer on national wires yet.
The long report is worth reading for the main story of abortion coercion, the claim that the social worker, Marisol Rivera, was fired for refusing to take the girl for an abortion, and some DHS statistics enumerating the abortions in which they have played a role.
This tactic is analogous to the leftist attacks on tea partiers for violence which they never committed. The vast preponderance of violence has been on side of the liberals. The teapartiers have staged the most orderly protests in human history.
Yep……. the Liberals revived this sex scandal business, because the Pope pushed the U.S. Bishops to oppose Obamacare. Revenge and distraction, it is.
So how is this going to work out? The Pope is being castigated because liberals wormed their way into the priesthood, and did what they usually do, have sex with the underaged. The Church is not the Police, and that is not its job, but Benedict XVI, who has been cleaning house, will be attacked to the greatest extent. Liberals are now being pushed out of positions of authority within the church by the pope, for their participation in the sex abuse, and this is the backlash.
Meanwhile the Dems are clearly aiming to use our tax dollars to buy viagra for sex offenders, instead of punishing them. Too many of their relatives and friends would have been angered if they had accepted yesterday’s amendment to he Senate health care bill to stop that practice.
The media will keep telling the public that the Church clergy should break their oaths associated with the sacrament of reconciliation.
The psychiatrists will not be asked to break the trust of their patients. That matter will be moot, as the government will possess your medical data.
Taking the Leftist agenda most of the way down its road– there will be systemic rooting out of the Christians, and any other religions with sex restrictions. The government will have all your medical data, but this will not matter for sex perverts. Data on men’s purchases of over the counter abortifacients will be of no significance. Planned parenthood failing to report obvious abuse of children is not considered a problem to leftists. Aborting the resultant babies,and hiding the rapes are considered a good service. At the “utopian” endpoint there would be no such thing as a sex crime, with all women and children being subject to this abuse. Worse than the Taliban, the leftists are.
The machanism of obtaining criminal restitution for those whose abuse has been used for video media production and distribution seems to be a good way to fight child pornography. A twenty year old, anonymous woman, called “Amy” by law enforcement, is obtaining such benefit as a result of legal rulings against those caught with child porn. Amy was abused sexually by her uncle when she was 8 or 9 years old, and resultant video from those episodes are now among the most heavily viewed child porn on the internet.
Amy is now asking for restitution in criminal cases of anyone caught viewing that porn, generating a whole new way of dealing with those who purchase and possess the illegal materials.
Opponents of this mechanism state that restitution cases should be limited to civil cases. Proponents cite the inability of these victims to pursue civil cases, and the additional means to penalize those who use and possess child pornography.
Pharmer’s first instinct is to nail child abusers and pornographers by any means available. The trouble is that it will bankrupt the unwitting families of those who use kiddie porn.
The Washington Examiner lists some questionable projects funded by stimulus money. Below are just a few.
