Police: Calif. Girl Jesse Bender Ran Away to Avoid Pakistan Marriage.
This is a hard one. Jesse Bender, of Hesperia, California, was afraid that she would be married off in Pakistan during a two month vaction with her father who is native to that area.
Her mother had reported to investigators that a facebook contact had led Jesse to run away, which touched off a federal kidnapping investigation. Relatives later led Police to a nearby hotel where Jesse was hiding out. She and her younger siblings are now in public custody as matters are sorted out.
