Purdue Student Assistance: A List of Left Leaning Professors

It’s a bit worrisome to register a student at Purdue and find that the course offerings to satisfy general requirements are increasingly filled with “foo foo” classes.  These are the kinds of courses which you can identify as leftie just from the title alone.   Fortunately this offspring of Pharmer has completed a bunch of general requirements during high school, and might be able to skip almost all of these offerings.  It’s a good feeling not to be wasting any tuition dollars on them.   Yours truly is instead  recommending some on-line alternatives to learn about American history and the Constitution.  Check out Hillsdale College, for example.

On a more reassuring note, Mitch Daniels, the new president at Purdue University, in Indiana, has gotten himself into hot water with some of the leftie  professors there.   He has long voiced opposition to using a history textbook by Howard Zinn  (A People’s History of the United States) as a compulsory text in public schools, K-12,  citing its strongly leftward bias.   His reasoning is that those students are a much more captive audience than college students, who choose their own schools and pay their own way, and they should not be spoon fed  “history” from the left.

Here’s a link to a letter, signed by 90 of the more left-leaning professors at Purdue, taking former Governor Mitch Daniels to task for opposing the use of the use of Zinn’s  works to  instruct students from grades K thru 12.   This letter is extremely valuable to prospective or current Purdue students because it can help with course selection.    The names of 90 leftie academic employees are appended to the letter, and this information can help with course selection.   Conservatives can choose to avoid the classes, and the possible lowering of their GPA that might occur, if they openly oppose the professors’ teachings.    Leftie students can use the list to suck up more leftism, (and become a bit less employable in productive fields) if they so choose.

Purdue students,  don’t go to school without this useful list.   It  is not comprehensive, nor  100 percent reliable as a predictor of flaming leftism, but it’s probably the best ideological guide to course selection that you could find in such a small space.

Above are the headlines which were automatically generated when the WordPress “Press This” button was pushed on William Saletan’s  article on ABC’s treatment of  Juror B29, ‘Maddy’.

Going to the article itself, there is an apparent change, and the milder look is shown below.  The discrepancy is probably due to a need to keep the original link URLS and tags, after editors tone down the appearance of the article itself.

Aside from that apparent change, William Saletan has provided a good analysis of media bias coming from ABC. Their video cutting and editing provides an impression that juror B-29 thought Zimmerman was guilty of murder, but had to acquit due to the letter of the law.

When a less edited video is heard or viewed, it is apparent that the juror understood that Zimmerman was guilty of killing Trayvon, (an undisputed fact of the case) but that this was not manslaughter or second degree murder because no Intention to kill was apparent.  Saletan tells us that ABC interviewer put the phrase “got away with murder” in Maddie’s mouth.   She was repeating it  (vid link) as she analyzed the question being put to her.

Saletan gets a thumbs up for analyzing the media treatment of this case in a dispassionate way.  Click his link and read for yourself. 

You’ll meet a juror who wanted to find Zimmerman guilty of the killing, out of sympathy for the victim and his family, but knew that the charges did not fit the situation.  She put aside her feelings and  and conscientiously interpreted the law.  You will also see the ill effects she is suffering, now that she is aware of the government-fomented race war which has been generated from this case.

Senate Approves Amnesty

Seeing the support for Amnesty eroding among the republicans,  Harry Reid rammed the bill, (largely unread, packed with pork, and a provision for Napolitano to refuse to build a border fence), through the senate in a big hurry.   It passed with only 32 votes opposing.

The amnesty bill has many qualities similar to Obamacare, which will serve to foster poverty and dependency.   Since the recipients of amnesty will not be eligible for obamacare, they will be hired preferentially to U.S. citizens, who cost more to employ due to the health care obligations for employers.

Naturally the largest political donors and corporations favored this bill, as a means to cut employment costs, and  survive in the downward spiraling economy.

The U.S. Catholic Bishops have invested millions in campaigning for amnesty,  otherwise called immigration reform.   This has been a secondary cause for many of the more aware Catholics to stop their donations, behind their support of Obamacare.   Unfortunately less than a third of Catholics are aware how tied up the bishops are into this political effort.

While Mexican illegal immigrants are the primary front group pushed forward to obtain sympathy for the bill,  it will affect illegal immigrants from all parts of the world.    It will be easier for us to import and grant benefits to such as the Tsunaev brothers and their pressure cooker bombs.

Taking Mexico as an example,   15% or more of that country’s workforce is in the U.S. and  it provides revenue back to the Mexican Government  second only to their oil industry.    The Mexicans themselves realize that exporting their most ambitious people and obtaining revenue in this way suppresses the development of their own economy. 

The U.S. corporate interests, as well as all other amnesty supporters have actively chosen the path of utilizing Mexico to bolster the United States permanent underclass, rather than to encourage and assist Mexico’s own economic development.

The crony corporatists believe that first  generation immigrants tend to comprise the most ambitious and hard working people, and that their progeny tend to relax and lose the work ethic under the umbrella of U.S. government aid.  Therefore  a cynical program in place to provide birth control and abortions at the locations where the immigrants are most numerous.    This has resulted in Hispanics aborting at nearly three times the rate of  Whites.  It’s the same methodology of “voter stock” control which has been applied to Black Americans.   Those who find it hard to believe that our government holds Mexicans in as low regard as it holds Blacks should recall the Eric Holder, Fast and Furious, gun running program which caused the deaths of 300 plus Mexican citizens.   These killings were not considered a crime worthy of national attention and punishment for the offenders.

It is astonishing  that any religious groups  would provide funding to assist with this cycle of injustice.   It is also astonishing that Marco Rubio  went along with this, though we have come to expect such stupidity from certain other republicans.   It is suspected that he was groomed as the face of Amnesty in order to kill his presidential political prospects.   Although there is a good chance to stop this particular amnesty bill in the Congress,  the leftists have succeeded in wiping out a future Republican presidential prospect.

Melinda Gates and “Women Deliver” Bring Their Best to Women’s Health

Melinda Gates, wife of Bill Gates is continuing her quest to control  reproduction of the Brown people on planet Earth.  She’s been working on the Women Deliver Conference, an outreach by the abortion arm of the UN.  “Trainers” brought  to this week’s  conference in Kuala Lumpur include  Peter Singer (who thinks that infanticide is fine), and LeRoy Carhart,  (who has an unlicensed nurse at his Maryland Clinic, and a nurse who might lose her license in August, at his Omaha clinic).

Ms. Gates is raising funds to bring Depo-Provera, and other birth control to 120 million more women in the developing countries.  She has also partnered with the United Nations Population Fund, which has been helping  to administer China’s one child policy.  Gate’s latest push is called Women Deliver, but it’s much more likely to prevent that.

You would think that Gates could afford to bring better trainers than Singer and Carhart (whose Maryland clinic has eight pages of failures listed on its  last state inspection). Only women would put up with such low quality  “health care”.

Incidentally, three fourths of Maryland’s 16  abortion clinics failed to comply with safety regulations, as reported by that state’s Dept of Health and Mental Hygiene. One fourth of the clinics were deemed to be bad enough to be shut down immediately.   There’s not a chance that men would tolerate this kind of substandard health care for themselves.

Former Google Exec Reveals Elaborate UK Tax Avoidance Scheme

Barney Jones, employed by Google between 2002 and 2006, had a cache of emails which reveal an elaborate corporate scheme to move UK profits  to the Bahamas, by booking contracts with British customers through its Dublin office.   He claims that Google dodged hundreds of millions of pounds in taxes over a decade, using this diversion.

U of Wyoming Students Protest Leftist’s Alleged Threat to Rape Herself

Students at University of Wyoming have been rallying against violence in response to a threatening Facebook post directed at activist student, Meg Lanker-Simons.   This missive appeared on a Facebook page called UW crushes, in which students could post who likes Whom, and in what manner.

Last week, a post, ostensibly from someone of opposing ideology was directed at Ms. Lanker-Simons: “I want to hatef— Meg Lanker- so hard,” the Facebook post said. “That chick that runs her liberal mouth all the time and doesn’t care who knows it. I think its hot and it makes me angry. One night with me and shes gonna be a good Republican b—-.”

Lanker-Simons was catapulted into the public position of victimhood, where leftists often like to be. Problems with remaining there erupted when a police investigation revealed that the offending post originated in Lanker’s own computer while it was in her possession. It’s worthwhhile for readers to check out the image showing the victim allegedly replying to her alleged self. 😉

Leftist Sociology Professor Retracts his Life in Research

Diederik A Stapel has lost his position at Tilburg University after his body of published research has come under question for fraud. Stapel had become a commonly  cited reference for the leftist media, in giving their views on human behavior and motivations.  The New York Times is having to face the fact that one of their oft referenced social “scientists” has retracted nearly all of his working life.

 Retraction Watch, a very important blog used by  researchers to keep tabs on fraud, dishonesty and retractions in their fields, has been keeping a tally on the disintegration of Stapel’s sociological house of cards.  He’s flying high in the Frequent Retraction category with over 50 articles  retracted by  such resources as the Journal of Experimental Social Psychology.

Stapel is noted for contributing so much to the body of beliefs that leftists hold about human behavior, which are simply not true…. such as the fictitious associations of 1) meat eating and selfishness,  and 2) filthy environments with aversion to people of other races, and 3) capitalism with gluttonous over-consumption.

Breitbart Celebrates -The Leftie Media Catching Up in the Pigford USDA Fraud story.

In 2010, Andrew Breitbart got into a fight with the NAACP, charging them with their very own racism.  He published a video showing an NAACP audience  which had cheered a statement in a speech by Shirley Sherrod  mentioning an initial desire  to refuse to help a white farmer in her capacity as USDA Director of Rural Development in Georgia.  Not withstanding Breitbart’s accompanying  statement that Ms. Sherrod  actually decided that she would render aid to that farmer, the lefties attempted to spin his message against the NAACP attitudes as an attack on Shirley Sherrod. An apparent basis for their spin  is the leftist assumption that their constituency cannot read, and could only take in  the video clip.   This fight grew into a firestorm, and eventually  led to Breitbart’s  investigation into a class action lawsuit of discrimination against Black farmers, from which Sherrod  and her husband had benefited to the tune of $13 million, prior to her being hired by the USDA.

This was the Pigford v. Glickman decision, which morphed into the most bloated civil rights settlement in history.

While an expected 2000 Black farmers who had been thought to suffer discrimination from the USDA’s loan grant policies, the number of applicants for payouts ballooned to 16,000.    In  2008,  Senator Obama sponsored legislation was passed, which  allowed another 70,000 people to qualify for settlements stemming from this original USDA decision.  This latter law allowed Ms. Sherrod the larger $13 million windfall from the government.

The huge numbers of people benefiting from the original Pigford and Glickman payout by the USDA  massively exceeded the total number of Black Farmers in the United States.  Breitbart had uncovered one more government boondoggle paying out billions of dollars to more than double the total 40,000 black farmers in the U.S.  He published a series of articles explaining the government fraud, which was ignored by the mainstream media, except FOX.

Now that the    New York Times has finally caught up to this web of government fraud, and payment of agricultural settlement money to people who were never farmers, Breitbart.com is celebrating today that the lamestream media has finally noticed.  One problem with their own article is the suggestion in the headline, that the story in the New York TImes “Vindicates ” Breitbart. Wrong!………. The headline should indicate instead that the New York Times is finally catching up with Breitbart.
The erroneous idea that the NYT  is the news of record is something which needs to be corrected.
The “Gray Lady” has been exhibiting signs of dementia for years.

Boston Jihad News is Faster on Drudge and Blaze

Here, there, and everywhere, we’ve been hearing lefties at CCN and various other outlets, naming conservatives as the cause of the Boston Marathon terror attack.  Perhaps they are crying in their Starbucks to find that a pair of Chechan converts to Islam are the apparent culprits.  Once more, they are wrong (lying)  about the right wing.  For the moment the left-media  can thank the bombers for shielding Kermit Gosnell’s infanticide trial from media scrutiny.  New legal proposals for the regulation of pressure cookers and licensure of those who use them are expected.

The eldest of the brothers  Tamerlan Tsarnaev, 26,has already been killed.  His 19 year old brother, Dzhokhar, is being hunted and is currently pinned down by law enforcement in Watertown MA.

It’s always a surprise to the Pharmer  to meet a new conservative friend who hasn’t yet  moved to the Drudge Report as a primary news aggregator.   Drudge is always faster than the boob tube news with respect to election coverage and this current hunt for the second  of two suspects in the Boston Marathon bombing.  For people who aren’t satisfied with what Matt Drudge and his editors think are hot scoops,  there is a long list of international news portals, lamestream media,  and editorial links at the bottom of his page.

The Blaze is a more visual site, with a higher concentration of opinion, but it is still whupping the lamestream media in speed of Boston Jihad coverage.

Breitbart.com continues its quality output after the celestial discharge of their namesake, with Ben Shapiro and crew.  Available there is a timeline of the Tsarnaev brothers stay in the United states which sheds some light on possible motives for the bombing.
