It’s legal to spend campaign funds to upgrade one’s rented dwelling, but it might not be good for the struggling single mom image.
With the added $131,000 that Wendy Davis apparently spent on her rental upgrades in Austin, she might have raised herself into the more rarified lifestyles of the abortion industry’s upper echelon. Her 2012 income from legal work with Newby-Davis is listed as $275,000.
According to the Washington Free Beacon, Davis has charged some fancy rental expenses to her campaign funds, while in Austin, and her living circumstances have been steadily upgraded with each passing year. Details of her luxury lifestyle can be obtained HERE.
These years of high living appears perfectly legal thus far, and would be just fine (even laudable as a stimulant to the economy) if Wendy were not campaigning on the poverty bus.
Davis is not keeping up with the Palins of 7 years ago (before they got rich), with respect to the charitable contributions. She’s a little more like the Clintons and the Gores of old, according to the small numbers revealed by the Texas Tribune.
One wonders how they would know for sure, since abortionists in such states as California don’t have to report abortion procedures. The CDC has sort of been guessing, and some believe that Guttmacher Institute, the research arm of Planned Parenthood. somehow has a better count.
The Guttmacher people would like to credit the increasing use of indwelling coat hangers….er…IUDs for the drop in abortions, even though those devices can operate to stop pregnancy after fertilization or after implantation. They would also like to credit the economic decline as impetus for people to be more diligent with their birth control.
The WaPo author goes further, to mention the state abortion restrictions which may be impinging on availability of the procedures.
A major source of Continuing Education, which Pharmer utilizes for keeping updated, and which serves both pharmacists and physicians, had downgraded the concept of linkage between abortion and breast cancer to the status of “rumor”. This was done in the face of a large body of peer reviewed research, and meta analyses which had produced conflicting results.
Under normal circumstances, a competent educator would conclude that there is a possible link, but that so far the analysis of data is conflicting or inconclusive. Further study is warranted. If an educator were not invested in the ideology that at least one abortion is a necessary female rite of passage into the Pentagonal Order of the Gaia Green Sisterhood, health professionals would be advised to be alert to the possibility of abortion breast cancer linkage and await further results.
Well, a new meta analysis from China is out now, showing a stronger link between abortion and breast cancer, as well as a sort of dose effect (the later the abortion, the bigger the linkage). Click on the image below, or click this link to see the reference.
Pharmer has not paid great attention to the theory of abortion breast cancer linkage, because so many abortion customers likely have such a high risk tolerance, that a 30 or 40 percent increase in the rate of breast cancer would be meaningless to them. It might be more useful to a woman who has been impregnated against her will, rather than as a result of willingly assuming personal risk. Public policy makers might have more interest in that linkage, as an impetus to control health care costs. The current crop generally likes population control and abortion so much that they are unlikely to be swayed.
This example is supplied mostly to inform people that their health care professionals are often being “educated” by ideologues rather than dispassionate purveyors of medical information. Consequently, the things that your health care professional tells you might be fairly inaccurate, or even opposite of the truth.
In conclusion, abortion (and late child bearing) probably do have a positive association with the increased breast cancer rate, but as always, further study is warranted. It’s not such a big deal that a person should need Xanax three times a day due to anxiety over breast cancer, but getting the mammograms and being a bit more vigilant would help if either of these life style options applied to you.
Your friendly Pharmer thinks that there are much bigger reasons to avoid abortion.
When the Girl Scouts of America decided to honor Abortion Barbie, Wendy Davis, as an outstanding female role model for their girls,it gave further inspiration to the pro-life efforts to boycott the organization.
The Girl Scouts are said to have lost membership, dropping 20 percent from almost 2.9 to 2.3 millionduring the time since John Pisciotta started up his first boycott in 2003. In the same period, donations dropped more than 30 percent, from about 140 million to 104 million, annually.
Piscotti’s boycott was a local effort addressing the hookup between a regional council and Planned Parenthood, presenting “Nobody’s Fool” and presenting literature to kids which showed various sex acts. He is still at it, and has been joined by numerous other religious and pro-life groups, as more chapters of girl scouts, including some in Indiana, have jumped into bed with Planned Parenthood.
When the Girl Scouts organization put Abortion Barbie (and Kathleen Sebelius) on their list of Women of the Year, gas was poured on the flames of the GSA boycott. It’s expected that cookie sales will be poor in 2014.
GSA says that the cookie proceeds go to individual chapters of the organization, but the licensing money that cookie producers pay to the Girl Scout organization is used to promote their leftie organizations of choice, and that includes Planned Parenthood and the leftist World Association of Girl Guides and Girl Scouts.
Surf the Pharm, for more reasons to keep your daughter out of the Girl Scouts. There are alternatives, such as Frontier Girls Club and American Heritage Girls, etc…
Apparently Cher’s mom, Georgia Holt, the veteran of many divorces and remarriages, had scheduled the abortion of her daughter. Obviously she didn’t go through with it. Apparently Cher also spent some time in an orphanage. Read more at the Blaze.
It seems that so many leftists have a traumatic early life, and seem unable to recover from the damage. Cher appears to have become whackier with age, or perhaps it’s just out of the closet.
A new category, Etiology of Leftism, will be dedicated to such stories.
Wendie has U-turned away from her past record of voting against gun-rights bills. She apparently wants to shed her “F” rating from the NRA, and distract from her bogus life story of struggle as a single mom.
Wendy Davis has given lukewarm support to background checks in the past. One wonders if she has reconsidered, now that she has been nailed by a “background” check which exposed that her education and political rise was backed by her second ex-husband.
Operation Rescue brings news of the Ohio Dept. of Health shutting down Women’s Med Center, a Cincinnati area abortion clinic, run by the infamous Martin Haskell. It is expected to be shuttered on Feb 4, this year.
Haskell was a nationally known proponent of the now illegal partial birth abortion method which involved a face-down, partial breech delivery, and puncturing the head of the baby before it had fully exited the vaginal canal.
A history ofproblems accompanied Haskell’s abortion practices, some documented by Operation Rescue. Haskell’s remaining Dayton clinic still operates under a similar variance, as that which allowed the operation of the Sharonville clinic. Two of Haskell’s abortionists, Walter T. Bowers and Roslyn Kade have lost admitting priveleges. Haskell replaced them with Chandra Gravely and Cindy Hansel, who have also been accused of negligence, and share at least seven malpractice suits between them, since 2000. Haskell failed to notify ODH of the two back up abortionists, and of their credentialing and disciplinary issues in a timely manner. These and other difficulties have led to the order to close the Women’s Med Center.
“The Dream is Dead Ad” campaign has been running in New York City, by TooManyAborted.com,to address the insane number of abortions, as well as the use of abortion to control the numbers of minority people in the city. From the chart you can see that more than 60 percent of NYC’s Black babies were aborted in 2011.
New York’s governor, Andrew Cuomo, says pro-lifers are not welcome in his state. He’ll take care of his population demographic problem HIS way.
Breitbart.com has focused on inaccuracies in the bio of Texas gubernatorial candidate Wendy Davis, which misrepresents some of the “hard times” of her life, and depicts her as a divorced teen mom. It seems her first divorce was not until age 21. Another interesting milestone is that her second divorce appears to coincide with the final payment on her Harvard Law School student loan. Impeccable timing.
Remember the lefties complaining about Palin’s supposedly neglecting her kids as she campaigned with McCain in 2008?? Palin’s family and her marriage remain intact, to this day. Will you hear the same lefties commenting about Wendy Davis (who gained undying love from Girl Scouts of America with her infamous pro-abortion filibuster) leaving her daughters in the custody of her ex husband while she pursued her political ambitions?
Not a chance. It’s as OK for a left-gurl to abandon her daughters as it is to abort them.
Red State has documented that a Judge issued a restraining order to regulate the behavior of Wendy Davis when she visited her kids. Find it at Scribd or a screen shot here, if that one disappears.
At this link is a copy of a lawsuit Wendy filed against the Fort Worth Star-Telegram for criticizing her during a campaign for City Council. She lost that suit and the TX Supreme Court refused to hear it.
